yes you can.
Although you can do what I did and convert the early car to run wasted spark and a single coil pack as per v3-4 cars. (very easy btw)
Much cheaper if you ever have to replace coil packs

this is confusing as i dnt want to spend lot money getting sti heads if they dnt fit as some people have said they wont fit my version 1 inlet and my 4 coilpacks wont go on either, are they chatting crap?as i dnt want hydrolic tappets and i want the better sti cams ect

You can run which ever coil packs with which ever heads.
You just need to modify the original 4 coil pack wiring to accept the single central mounted coil pack (if you want to up grade).
Or just use the heads Peanuts has with your original 4 coil packs.
All your ancilleries will bolt up to the above heads without any problems and then you will have STI cams and under bucket shims, good for 450-500HP standard.

As Peanuts said though, a single coil pack is more reliable, there is a thread on here of how to use your early loom and change the connections for the single coil pack, or Simon at JGM will tell you, if you went that route.
