Anyone got one of these cluttering up their garage that they don't want?
Preferably with all bits & trailer etc although I know I could put it on the roof of the wagon - but I'm small & weedy & lazy

'cos I haven't been out in ages, don't want to buy new & too frightened of a Hobycat
Should be good enough fun for me - wife won't go
I'm based in Cambs but have a Wagon & a tow-bar
I also realise that there's not much open water in Cambs, but folks live on the NW coast of Donegal where there is the whole Atlantic & lots of wind

Puff,
You also have Grafham water - very large bit of inland pond, complete with sailing club etc.,
I shall have a shufti - Are you set on a LII, or just a reasonably cheap, not too scary singlehander? (LII seems an odd choice for singlehanded sailing )
Based west of london, sail at datchet water (another inland res), in a really silly boat (49er)

What's odd with it?
OK - so it's nearly 20 years since I used one of them but it was fine for me solo, wet bum & all. Prefer trying to run 2 sails over 1. May be talking cr@p!
Open to suggestions though ???
Learnt in a Mirror (#1074!!) & quite used to Force 6 in that - which is fun

Puff, YHM.
I also started in a mirror, then a minisail, then some dabbling with Lasers, then Javelin, Nat12, Solo, OK (&dabbling in larks), ISO (front thereof), RS600, recently to the 49er. Truly awesome bit of kit.

sempers, you got a 49er then?
Where are you based, would love to have a go
I am in Poole/Bournemouth.
Started in Mirrors/Miracle at the age of about 13, got a topper then a 420, spent years in 420's, did Darts for a few year, bit of F18s and now J24s. Love crewing, hate helming
Give me a wire and kite and I'm off.
Never really liked the look of the LaserII, I guess it's good for single handed but as a two man boat it seemed a bit small.
Edited to say I know where you are based now after reading the post
Me and a mate are tempted to get back into dinghy/skiff style sailing, J24s are great but I so miss the trapeze

Difficult to define - around 140-160kg's all up, crew does all the physical work; so min (60?) helm, max crew(80+) (so long as it's muscle mass).
On the other hand, the boat's quite inclined to stick the nose in downwind, so it's nice to have a little lard in the back corner
Practically, I think they tend to be reasonably evenly matched (we're about 78 helm and 74 crew); as you're both on wires it matters less where the weight is.
- Mark.

Thanks for that lead. Bit more expensive than I was thinking
However, I've still got my Halifax shares not doing much - wonder if I should cash in & buy that?
Let me talk to my "financial controller"
