Information!!!!!
Anyone else had trouble with the steering (either power steering pump or the steering knuckle) on a classic impreza. the pump looks fine with no leaks as its holding the fluid.
It started grinding when i was turning, and it has gone tight (but is intermitting)
infomation would be appriciated thanks lads/lasses

does sound like knuckle. i had to replace the one on my uk car.
its fairly straight forward to remove and check. two bolts if i remember and slide it up, disconect one end and slide it off downwards. if you dont want to reset roll connector etc put steering column lock on before disconnecting.

If not the knuckle, could be possible air lock in the system, had similar symptoms with a classic once which grinded and squeeled under load, although the fluid level was normal, i kept topping it up and the level stayed the same until the air came out of the system.
