6speed Linkage with OEM Bushings (possible swap for uprated one?)
Hi all, looking for the above. I've fitted uprated bushings to mine and I'm not sure if I can deal with the increase in NVH much longer...
I've still got my OEM Bushings but I can't remove the solid ones without cutting them up, which I'd rather not do. I'm hoping to swap the linkage straight out and either sell mine on with the uprated bushes to someone less sensitive to NVH or perhaps even do a swap if someone is willing to be without a linkage for a few days while I do the swap.
My bushes were from Alyn @ AS Performance and get excellent reviews for their impact in gear change (which I love) but the increase in sound/vibration from the transmission is a bit much for me in my daily driver.

To be fair, I went through the thread on SNet which had loads of people offering feedback and a few people said that there was no increase in noise.
I'm wondering if I'm either more sensitive than everyone else, or whether my transmission might actually have a problem and the new bushes are simply amplifying that. If I can fit some OEM bushings and find the noise is still there, then I'll make the trip to a transmission specialist. If I fit the OEM bushings and the noise vanishes, I'll just stick with OEM and the sub standard shift feel.
The shift feel IS a massive improvement.
Fancy meeting up and doing a linkage swap? :P

I managed it on axlestands on my drive, and I'm a bit of a mong.
Basically support transmission and then remove the crossmember (for access). Undo a bolt to remove the rear stay bushing (yellow) and then punch a roll-pin type thing out of the rod to the left of (red) which isn't on the diagram.
Once those are undone, remove 4x 10mm bolts in the cabin and drop the whole linkage out of the car.
Probably an hour max with ramps, lights and somebody who can work a spanner.
I'm willing to do a swap just to confirm that the bushings are DEFINITELY the cause of my noises. If you're unhappy with the solid ones then I'll simply cut them out in situ and put the OEM ones back in and go home with OEM. If I put your OEM ones in my car and I've still got noises... well i'll worry about that at the time, but it's not your problem!
I need to see the quality of your paintwork, so I don't mind a drive over sometime
