I'd recommend an AFR meter too so you can at least check some of the fuelling. Running uprated boost with a decat and air filter without a remap sounds a bit risky to me, especially if you can't monitor the fuelling.
I've just had my lambda sensor replaced as I failed my MOT on emissions - if I'd had my AFR connected I'd have known it had gone before the test

I have had an AFR for a while, and dont really rate it tbh. Looks nice and MAY tell you if your lambda is buggered, depending on how it fails. They are quite difficult to read on closed loop as it just bounces back and forward, while it tries to find the right mixture. How you are supposed to work out if thats running lean or rich is beyond me! On boost, open loop, the lambda isnt used so its no use then either....
You can safely up the boost to 1.1 bar with no issues. I have mine set to 1 at the moment. But when te tek2 is fitted on Monday...

In my case, it would have told me that my lambda sensor wasn't working as I connected a multimeter up and it was pretty much stuck on 0.3v. This didn't cause the CEL to come on because, I think, the ECU was happy with this value...
Agree that's it of no use on part throttle.
The AFR meter is useful on WOT though because the ECU doesn't use the lambda sensor. The ECU can't change the fuelling depending on what the sensor is reporting because it doesn't use it, so if you're running lean there's nothing it will do about it. It's then up to you to change your mods to try and stop it running lean because the ECU isn't going to. That's quite a simplistic explanation/theory but I think it's broadly correct.
TEK2 is definitely a better way of raising boost safely and I think can raise it higher than a Dawes on a standard ECU ('cos of fuel cut).

Cruising?! Dont do it! Or if you have to, make sure you punish some Nova's
My mates and I have a challenge to see how much abuse we can give to anyone using their fog lights round Westover, while in the beer queue. Please beam them with HID lights if you see any.
