Got the same problem with our's when the wife takes it to work, she works opposite the Ambulance & Fire Station. Have to start it with the keypad in the glove box using the pin number.
I am told by our dealer there is part that can be ordered from Sigma and we are going to have it fitted at next service.
Hope this helps
Paul

I had mine sheilded under warranty. Its *better* but i still have the problem. The only difference is now rather than moving the car i can just wave the keyfob round near the car clicking and eventually it works somewhere.

I made a claim under warranty because I got fed up with it! It turns out that you can't use the keyPAD if the keyFOB won't let you set the alarm. So if you park somewhere and can't set the alarm using the keyfob, you won't be able to turn the immobiliser off when you want to drive away. I ended up kicking up a fuss with Subaru head office... Sigma fitted an upgraded ECU and Subaru paid for it. If you don't ask, you don't get. If the first time you ask, you don't get, then keep asking!
I can't see why they can't work out a system which DOES actually let you override the immobiliser using the keyPAD. There must be some whizzkids out there who can come up with a solution?
