IMHO BTCC not as good as previous years.
We had Production, which was v. good with everyone giving it max. Respect to Tom Boardman & the Toyotas (nice sound). 2 rollers tho' & a couple of others into the kitty litter.
We had Sprint for the big boys, but there were 4 Astras, 3 Peugot, 1 Alfa & no Lexus. More a parade, 'specially since Alfa's engine went...
Exiges, which should've been v.close, wasn't so & Formula Renault wasn't too bad (should've put the Safety Car out at a differnt place tho'). Clios were excellent - really trying & a lot more fun. Baxter (I think) came from last through to 5th.
Up until this point, quite a surprising amount of offs (some on film ).
Feature race became a blur after a short while & it was hard to tell who was in what position, as big boys had to pit & they were that much quicker than the prodies.
Not casting any aspersions on the efforts and achievements of the drivers/teams (including our very own bbs'er Phil Bennett ) but the day was a bit of an anti-climax. Needs to have the 2 classes closer IMHO. There is too much of a difference of performance in them.

Least I was there & I was actually using the telephoto lens of my camera to see who'd turned up for the day
Someone with a 140 in their no. plate (whom I know to be on here) was definately amongst the specators.
Enjoyed the experience & I'll back at the next

Thought you might have seen mine there too Puff
Spotted most of the above - recognised the red one with the teeny number plate (can't remember who you are though ) + X???OEV (?) that was parked near me, then moved halfway through the day.
Enjoyed the day - Clios were most fun IMHO, and Tourers should get a lot better when we get reliable Alfas, the Lexuses and the MGs.
Anyone interested in heading to Snetterton night-time race in August? About 5 interested from work so far...

I was there too, and didn't see a single Scooby, I was in the free car park in my DBM 5-door, near the main gate. Easy to get out and to the in-laws down the back lanes about 4 miles away.
I agree that the main race really wasn't too good. The performance, and even the looks of the tourings vs production is so different. Clios were ace. Ellies sounded good...
If anyone's taking part in the Challenge 2001 karting series I'll see you in Kent

It was my first time.
Have to confess I was not enthralled. The Sprint Race was a total waste of space.
We bailed out after the Formula Renualts. Fortunately I got the tickets for free from TG mag, so wasn't so upset.
A shame coz I was really looking forward to it.
Saw loads of Scoob's though
