Do people in new WRX's get waved at?
#1
I have recently picked up my WRX, every time I see another scooby I wave and I have only received acknowledgement from a single UK300 so far. Now do I endeavor to communicate or do I throw in the towel?

Greg,
You're not alone. I evan tried posting a 'who's in my local area' type entry but got no response.
Regardles of age and spec they are all great cars. For the record I ackowledge anyone driving something a bit special on the road.
Ps. next time i'm up in Birmingham I'll look out for you and make a point of waving!

I hardly get waved and never get a post in here!
I thought things might have improved when I changed the lights.
It might just be the case that some people don't notice you or me. At least I keep telling myself that!
I might start trying a different wave and see if that prompts a response!!

Good news in the Bucks area. There is only one regular guy who doesn't wave, everyone else in well into it. Several P1s, me in an RB5 and a few others of various specs. All a very friendly bunch.

Yeah, people wave, just keep educating them.
Had my MY01 since April and been waving at a P1 driver for about the same time, last friday on the way home he waved back for the first time, whoo hoo, felt good....

Well.....thanks everyone, I will keep on waving to everything AWD then, I have just made contact with a local EVO so I don't feel so ignored anymore!! Hope to see some of you at the next SIDC AGM, is anyone going?

Greg,
I dont know if it was me, but I have a UK300 with a private plate and normally wave
I have been a bit disillusioned recently as only seemd to get a wave back from 1 in 10.
There are a few I see regularly that just ignore you, so I have stopped waving to them now. A black WRX STi stopped to let me out the other day with a woman driver, I waved to thank her but didnt even acknowledge me!
I see quite a few scoobs round here, but I dont think any/many visit scoobynet and understand the waving thing.

I also always wave (DBM MY00) and it doesn't bother me if it's new model or old.
However...........I'm beginning to wonder whether it's worth it! I saw 5 turbo's today (all "old" models, as it happens), and not one returned my wave between Reading and Stockbridge and back. Perhaps the Berkshire/Hampshire mob are a bit too "posh" to wave?

Its strange...I used to get a few waves in the P1....from both old and new shape...however now (other than the local Scoobs that I know) I very rarely get a wave from either model....whether the new shape ones just don't understand....and maybe the old shape (donning flame suit) are just too snobish !!!

I also have a UK300 with private plates and work in Solihull. I have seen you too Mark, if it was you then you passed me on the A34 (M42 end) a couple of weeks ago? I don't have a goatee although I am inclined to not bother shaving...
I was also on the Solihull bypass twice last week around 12:30ish.

Always try and wave - not so good at spotting the new style scoobs though. Already made a couple of aborted waves at cars I thought were new scoobs but then found they weren't as they got closer.
Must check my contact lenses are in the right way round!

Greg,
I have seen a silver WRX around a few times, but only from the rear so couldnt see headlamp conversion. I saw one a few weeks ago on the bypass "pressing on" quite rapidly, was that you?
It could have been me you saw, although I dont have a goatee. Then again it could have been my Mrs driving, but she doesnt have a goatee either
Seamus,
Yes I think I passed you a couple of weeks ago, you were heading toward the M42.
I live around solihull, so I will give you guys a wave next time I pass you!.

Seamus,
Yes I do the early M42 sometimes. Do you come from Nhamptonshire to Solihull every day?, if so you must be raking up the miles. What mpg are you getting?
As well as having the same car, I see you are into the same line of work as me also (IT).

Yeah I'm afraid so, I live just West of Northampton, about 55 miles each way everyday so not too bad. Saying that I've had the 300 since July and it turned 7K on the way in this morning, mind you PPP gets fitted at next service so I'm happy.
As for MPG not too sure, running it on Optimax at the moment, I get about 280miles from a £42ish fill up. I have seen it substantially less than that though, usually when the GF uses it!
In IT yes, contracting in Hall Green (Siebel).

Thats not bad, I am getting about 210 miles from a £42 tank on Optimax, although Ive been booting it more recently.
You wont be dissappointed with the PPP, it goes (and sounds) lots better.

Hello Mark / Seamus, I have seen one of you on the bypass and the other, or indeed the same UK300 at the Shirley Trading Park B&Q a few weeks back. I've just had the PPP, doesn't it make all the difference?
I will be looking out for both of you from now on!

If B&Q is anywhere near Toys R Us then that was me (not sure where B&Q is). What were you in?
By the way I'm 29, I hope you're not suggesting I'm Old Mr D?
