Default Couple of Scoobys in my rear view

A blue bugeye model and a white classic shape in my rear view mirror at Elvington, were you giving me a head start?

No one owning up? Raced a white S reg with carbon rear wing and other bits and a blue 'bugeye' model. Beat the bugeye, won one lost one against the white one and got beat by two other scoobys and a skyline. It was a good day ...... apart from the sunburn!

Stripped out with exhaust, i/k and chip, did'nt do too bad for a car with only 160 bhp. Was running high 14s and low 15s, even with the heat I'm surprised some Imprezas were running 14s/15s and even 16s!

Whats your torque then? Are you sure the scoobies weren't just happy to let you pass to give them a laugh (only joking ok! Dont lets all start a flamefest - not so soon after Japfest anyway).

So what races were they? Straight mile, quarter etc???

Over the quarter mile, and I don't know what torque my car has standard is 130ish ft/lb so probably close to that. Oh and the two scoobies I beat were left sitting on the line and never caught me up. Maybe they were not bothered about head to head and were just going for times but they did'nt reel me in either. Best terminal was 91 mph, not bad for a lil hot hatch.

Well I've got 7 inches on a good day. With a bit of tape measure manipulation that is. Some days I only manage 3 though. Less than that in a cold wetsuit.
In my dreams its more like Lexington Steeles', except a bit more pink.

Launching the scoob is one of the main keys to setting a good drag time. That and you mechanical sympathy to the clutch and drive train. A hot day can slaughter a scoobs performance. Heat soak through the enigine to the TMIC. You can feel the difference in the performance on a warm day.

If I was beside you I wouldn't be racing, just perfecting my launch technique, feds don't like you doing it on the road.

Some you'll win, some you'll lose, something always big, better, faster and more powerful.

yes I ran against you on my second run, which was my best of the day. Not that I looked quick next to you, your car was launched like a scooby should be. Some good times there sure you've only got 250 bhp?
