I was in a silver classic following behind, you had occasional black smoke pops coming out the back and when you finally went for it I was nailed 2 car lengths behind occasionally blending out the throttle until you moved out the way. The evo was grey!

I'm pretty sure it was an unhappy car, what with the smoke and the fact i'm only running 340hp myself (possibly).

Anyone know much about performance on these cars, I thought they were awesome, or does the MR suggest it was a MR 260 with the FQ340 performance pack, i dunno, i dont visit the dark side. There was one exactly like it at the motorshow

People are only just taking delevery of this model as its only recently out. You'l prolly find he was running it in.

no, i think he had a problem with it, i nailed it in 4th on boost and we stayed together for about 4-5 seconds until I started gaining slightly, if he was running it in i think i would have driven straight into the back of him as he'd have not used any more than 3000 rpm or whatever. A car like that being run (ie driven off boost), will closely resemble a slow saloon.

On the other hand, perhaps it wasnt run in and he blasted it when he shouldnt have then realising his error backed off by hitting the brakes.

Whats even more curious is that the second he pulled out of my way he SLAMMED the brakes and wobbled it a little down to more sensible speeds.

Either way, most curious behaviour.

yeah i'm kind of worried about that, at the time it was going under a bridge so maybe he knew there was a camera on it and decided to trick me into getting fined! but no flashes and no marks in road.

Either way, weird behaviour!

Seen 2 Evo 8's round near the M6 both driven by women, 1 yellow and 1 grey. Maybe thats the reason, might of scared her going over 3000rpm.

yeah, i love them too, i got mullered by one about 10mins after one of my performance mods, he literally came straight past me when I looked in my rear view mirror to find out if i'd left him behind, then he was in front of me, i had 265hp at the time so he must have had some serious power going on to drive past me like that, very impressed

The only Evo ive gone against is at santa pod, the poor bugger broke it as we launched of the line, otherwise i think he would of destroyed me, as it was a stripped out evil sounding beast.

I was on that motorway yesterday. Went to ayelsbury for the Mlr rr day.

Incidently they had a stripped hillclimb scooby there and it did 430@wheels. Awesome motor, for a scoob.
