bet it gets there quick , only a 4 door so no blo@dy good when its on the seen.
Was a red 4 door decked out in all lincoln fire services logos, blue light.think it was a n reg
at the top end of netalham road station.
never heard or seen this before ,
anyone else,

seen one in Manchester once IIRC, getting slowly more popular..

Not such a daft idea, one of the responsibilties of the first appliance to reach an incident is to assess the need for additional or specialist equipment. Say it takes a fire engine 6 minutes to reach an incident and a car 3 minutes from the station, if additional tenders are needed they can be on the way 3 minutes quicker if a fast response vehicle is first on the scene rather than a normal appliance. If it's one of the many hoax calls the appliances can be stood down before they arrive and are then available for any other incident. I believe some brigades have experimented with bikes but "fast" cars seem to be preferable.
