Open invite to the WYIOC's - Lake District
As some of you may be aware, Helen & I are going up to the Lakes for a couple of weeks and we were planning on dragging the Cumbrian Scoobs out for a possible meet-up. If any WYIOC's would like to join us on tuesday 4th Oct at our resort you can have full use of the facilities (pool, jacuzzi, steam, sauna, gym, water skiing, bar & restaurant etc) and in the evening I'll try and sort something with the Cumbrians for a meet maybe up on the Kirkstone Pass. Obviously it's quite a way to come, and on a work/school day for many, but you will be welcome the whole day if you can make it, and we can even put a few people up overnight maybe (I know there's a few out there who have hours as flexible as me )
Let me know ASAP, as from monday morning I won't have much net access until friday night before the trackday. Sorry for the short notice, but I'm sure there are some do-ers in the WYIOC who'll move mountains

Kirkstone pass is an absolutely brilliant road in clear weather cos even though it's twisty (and steep! ) you get good vision of what's coming in the opposite direction for most of the way over so you can give it some
I went over it the last time I was up there following some guy in an EVO, we had fun
Can't make it up this time though my shifts an not quite flexy enough

Shame it didn't clash with one of my little trips over there! Sure you'll have great fun, remember to check out http://www.cumbriasafetycameras.org/index.php?schedule in advance!
Sure you'll have plenty of fun. Although it's a big road the A66 is one of my favourites over there. The rollercoaster section near Penrith, and also the bit where the carriageway splits nearer to, and in the direction of Keswick - one HUGE curve.
