End of Year Doo... Thursday 15th December
This is a joint celebration...
1. Santa will be coming down your chimney and leaving you a 2004 Top Gear classics DVD and a new tyre pressure gauge from NEXT.
2. The 'Bah Humbug' dept of the DVLA will have posted Sticky a new crisp & shiny driving licence a day or two before. All the department will have signed it and charged him £200 for the super special Xmas postage. Even if this Super special xmas delivery is late, which it will be of course, the computer will say 'Mr Sticky can now drive.....' and a small red light will be flashing on top of the monitor... This will be enough to get Sticky behind the wheel at approximately 23:59:59.9 secs on the 14th. As the clock spins into 00:00:00.0, there'll be a Subaru shaped STI disappearing out of his village.. On the same evening, and after 6 tanks of Optimax, we'll gather with a grinning Sticky at the Holmfield and drive with him to the FG.. where we'll pick up some more people for a drive on to the Lady Bower Pub..
If there are no major objections to the time, date and style... then I will post further detailed details, in a detailed fashion...
Can I have your names please and the approximate number that will be attending.... I will update the attendee list here...

Following on from a techno-babble encoded PM from Al this morning, I have been in touch with the Ladybower Inn, with a view to making a reservation for 20 or so people on the night in question.
Unfortunatley they're booked up!
So, we're looking for other options.
The Snake Pass Inn is a few miles further up the same road as the Ladybower, so I could try them, or thew Strines Inn, on Strines Moor.
Or we could look in other directions.

Right, just got off the 'phone with the Snake Pass Inn, and they're happy to have us. Basically it'll be the Strine's run to the Ladybower, past the Ladybower Inn and another few miles up the road towards Glossop. Should only add about 5 mins to the journey.
I've booked for 20, but on the proviso that this is a guesstimate. Was offered the Xmas menu, but declined it as the logistics of sorting out who wants what would be too much of a PITA, so we'll just have to make do with the standard menu when we get there.
Told them it'd be around 8:30pm, so a little calculation may be required to work out a departure time from the Holmfield Arms and the FG respectively.
Hope this is to everyone's satisfaction, if not then now would be a good time to say so.

I thought we were having one to pick up the Burnsie Memorial stickers from Steve...
See his thread on it - I guess it's still on where there could be a slight snifter of a chance of refreshment for some people
