Monthly Meet - 24th November....
I've been criticised for not starting this thread earlier..
But what is not fully understood, is that inspiration cannot be just conjured up. Genii have to wait.. it has to be nurtured, slowly from a seed forming in a mist.. you have to be patient, waiting for the mist to clear before understanding a little more of what grows.. Once it has become a fully fledged thought, it has to be moulded into a sentence, paragraph, poem, novel, painting, sculpture or Pagani Zonda F.
We've seen it here on this board many times.. How many times have we seen Sticky bashing keys with his size 9's, only to find that a clever, well written poem comes forth soon after or a cartoon Pig wearing a Santa Hat springs from the screen? Coincidence? No. You'll find that this happens when two things occur... The first is Oxygen. When he's stood up.. the air is thinner.. obvious for someone so gangly.. But when he sits down and becomes normal height.. the air thickens up dramatically and this Oxygen overload starts a process forming.. but this fledgling thought process (maybe the first that week) needs help.. The help comes in the form of Stella. Not the McCartney named dress designer, but the amber liquid found in cans.. mainly in the Sticky household I hasten to add.. Only when these magical chemicals interact do we get the fruits that we see on the screen (Waste fluids get pi55ed down the bog.. but we'll not go into that bit..)
The other is Mr Atom himself.. being so low to the ground means that Dazza gets a veritable feast of Oxygen that only snails, cockroaches and ants can appreciate.. This whacking great Oxygen overload means that 1/2 a Carlsberg has him spinning into an alcohol fuelled stupor in seconds... But we're not here to watch a comical chattering drunk...
It's far more serious as the results however are pure genius.. how can you explain his pig pictures attached to such scant underwear and the positioning he gets to get the best view whilst taking such a picture for our own enjoyment? We also cannot forget that his GT4 Nurburgring tracktime was also framed exquisitely between Neve's legs. The flannel needed to persuade Neve to do that must be legendary.. It could be down to the fact that he's a lucky bugger.. but I feel it's down to God, Oxygen and shandy.
If you wish to come along and see some further pictures on Dazza's mobile and see the spectacle of Sticky sitting down and becoming a slurring wreck in seconds whilst knocking out a Rembrandt type picture with only a Half empty year book DVD dipped in ink.... then get yerself down to the next monthly meet..
It's free.. it's beautiful and we're guaranteed to have blazing sunshine on the run from the Holmfield arms over Emley moor.. the roads will also be closed, marshaled and specially widened to take Barry & Simon as they weave their magic over the Silverstone smooth tarmac... There's usually hordes of girls at the Fox Glove waiting in admiration as to the god like driving skills that are beamed to them from our very own helicopter satellite link.. to the 42" Plasma TV.. There's probably the odd WRC contract floating around too as Mitsi need all the help they can get... No problems though, as we can start the log fire with them.
So, we hope to see you there... bring some money for a shandy and probably the best cheese and bacon burger you've ever had... Not joking either.. bloody lovely..
The date? The 24th. Make a note and book some time off..

No can do this time guys Unless you all want an extended run from the Holmfield and I'll book us some tables in The Slipway, Port Isaac. Might be sat next to Doc Martin or if you're really unlucky, Laurence de-Lalio Bowness or whatever that poncy decorators name is

After such a fantastically researched and stunningly accurate introduction how could anyone resist. I think an early departure may be on the cards in order to ensure a parking spot and a seat by the fire.
One tiny amendment though... Auntie Stella has been usurped by the floral, fruity white delight that is Kronenbourg Blanc. Try it sometime.

When it comes to the Crossfire I'm in the Clarkson camp, and I can look out of the window and see a dog having a **** at any time of the day.
Sorry
Bet you could make a nice little boat hull out of the bonnet though!

Al as far as an opener and introductionary speech goes that is pure class mate.
Makes me want to finish work early and walk there. But alas as usual my finish times mean I miss the events now there not at the TP, And well as you know my car is not in a road worthy condition, I will be there in spirit though to ask sticky about the dvd need cheering, and also ask him to do me another windscreen sunblind grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Mick,
I'm just down the road from you so can pick you up if needs be.
Will be my last run out in the Impreza! Smart Car is due anyday . . and bought a house so have no money for scoob's
Although I'm sure I'll be having a WYIOC house warming party involving Stella, Stella . . . and more Stella!

Even though I've had the Scoob back two weeks (whilst running the new engine in ) it goes back next week for final mapping and "niggle" fixes so the good news is I'll be coming, the bad news is I'll be in a Nissan Micra hire car - D'oh!

We used to attract Ferrari Stradale's, RUF Twin Turbo's, Nobles and Lambo's, as well as the usual crop of Scoobs & Evo's. The future of the WYIOC on the other hand is Nissan Micra's, Smart ForFours and possibly my Mini (unless I go for the Seat TD)
Where did we go wrong Should we go back to the TP
