Bank Holiday Monday 2nd Jan - 1st run of 2006
Anyone fancy it
A few of the guys are out today, but I had to stay home and fix the clutch in the Corrado
So, anyone not working during the day on Monday fancy a steady blast out to the Dales (or anywhere else). Weather forecast is for 4-6º and light showers.
I'll meet the J.30 convoy as you come off the M62 at J.27 (Ikea) to lead you on the non-convoluted route through west Leeds (not Sticky's route which includes half of south Leeds ) out to the A65 and beyond.
Any other Leeds lads, 10.45am at the Brickworks, we can actually use their carpark as they shouldn't be open by then, or at worst they'll be quiet.
For the guys coming to meet us, come off at J.27 and take the A650 towards Bradford but within 100yds turn right onto the B6135 to Drighlington. The Old Brickworks is 200yds on the left with a 100' high chimbley that says "BRICKWORKS" on it, so you shouldn't miss it. HERE's A MAP

Had a quick chinwag with Sticky tonight and we talked about the possibility of doing this run again?
Sticky thought it was awesone with the views... so if the snow is still lieing, then we should have the same quality scenery...
How does this sound?

What would I have rather done, 1: fit a replacement hydaulic clutch mechanism or 2: drive on some of Britains finest roads with a great bunch of guys
Please bear (or is it bare ) in mind that option 2 involved handing over the Scoob keys for its use in a days hairdressing on west Leeds finest council estates on the coldest, snowiest day of the year during a school holiday

Just worked out your route as opposed to mine from my house to the M62. Yours is exactly double Then again, if I were to try and find your house again I would probably end up going via Berlin and Cork Where is it again

Try again, and this time measure it to the M62 / M1 junction, which is where I needed to end up...
Your route : 9.6 miles on roads with which I am unfamiliar
My route : 11 miles on roads I know well
Not even worth discussing, is it. So double

Perhaps the meet at J30 should be clarified slightly. Meet up at the lay-bys on the ROTHWELL side of the junction, not the WAKEFIELD side.
There's usually a flower stall there. There's also a Tesco filling station up in Rothwell (about 1 1/2 miles away) that does 99RON unleaded, I'll be filling up there before heading down to the meeting point.

On the contrary, it actually appears to be better than with Opticack.

No mention of how quickly the NSL was reached, or what gear I was in whilst adhering to it
If it's all gonna be off boost I'll take the van
