Someone hates me!
Well yet again the Scoob will not be making an appearance at this months meet.
I've just been hit on the way home.
I was turning into a side road and the car waiting in the side road set off and T-boned me.
It was low speed but has wrecked my door the rear driver's door and some bodywork. It hit the back wheel as well so I'm not sure if there's more than bodywork damage.
Oh hum, someone up there does'nt like me having the Scoob back even though I've been calm and driving it like a p*ssy.
Ian

Sorry to hear Glad your OK though, and hopefully the damage isn't any worse than your initial thoughts. If you need a car to put you on for a while you could have mine for £12.5k or so

When I arrived all the mechanics came out and it was'nt soon before the bonnet was up. I had a word with the Manager who promised it would'nt leave the gates. Just to be sure I noted the mileage with him

Is there any way u can restrict the revs on the car as i know of a few places that, well don't drive it but rev the crap out of it probably fine when warmed up but not cold start, u should have said to the main man the engine is new and if it's moved about not to take the revs above 3k or there could be problems.. also did u note how much fuel was in it?

Ian.. Ali's got a good point... Someone from the club had something similar when taking his motor in to a reputable specialist... He had an engine monitor tucked behind the visor and it had recorded that the car had been redlined a few times after some suspension work..
Not good. One look in you engine bay and I can guarantee someone will need to take it for a test drive to see 'if the door's straight...'

Ian, absolutely gutted for you mate. It's no consolation, I'm sure, but at least you're okay. It could have been worse.
Here's hoping it's sorted ASAP. We NEED to see the car

Saw the car today. I do a fair bit of work for the bodyshop in question, and knowing I have a Scoob they couldn't wait to tell me all about the 600bhp monster that they had in.
Rest assured that they do a bloody good job, and the manager is well aware of the fact that it's to be treated with kid gloves

Many thanks for the note - I've been worrying a bit about it getting revved, street tested etc etc I'm well relieved to hear it. I did meet the Manager personally yesterday and he gave me his word but you just never know...
It's only 500BHP/Torque tho Chinese Whispers working well in just 24 hours - I wonder what it will be upto by the end of next week
From what you know are they good on the mechanics as well as the bodywork?
Hard for me to tell but I suspect the tyre is shot, I certainly wouldn't trust it again in anger, the wheel also may have been damaged? With a blow like that, the rear diff needs checking too.

I wouldn't have a clue about their abilities on the mechanical side. They call us in when they get a ven that needs re-lettering following panel repair, and their work in this area is excellent. I think it would be fairly safe to assume that they're going to be as competent with the stuff you can't see, but don't quote me

The 501 ponnies were never in doubt
I just hope (and I am going to check) that they inspect the underneath since the other car bounced off my back wheel and I suspect some damage other than bodywork...

It's back
Quality Repair by Alton cars. Big thanks to John the Manager there - he went above and beyond the call of duty looking after it...
I (and many others) have looked over it and you just cannot tell it's been damaged:
Due back to Scoobymania in a week or so to have a set of Defi Gauges fitted on top of the dashboard. They're checking the car for hidden damage (suspension, bearing, diff etc) for free as well as fitting another set of stickers on the right (photo of the left for comparison) for nothing.
Yet further proof of a top outfit that really care about their customers and cars!
Regards,
A very happy Knobby
