Default Thursday 26th Jan at the Foxglove... The First Meet of 2006!!!!

Do you know what the top 5 New Year Resolutions are??

1. Spend more time with family & freinds - No problem. I'll do that after I've had this meet, done the sunday run.. popped along to the autosport show.. Been on the impromptu to the Dales and washed the car...

2. Fit in fitness - Ali's being trying to get that elusive 3 pack for some time now... Simon's taught frame in those T-Shirts look like it's been honed at the gym.. but you can get a cheap Batman costume that'd give Dazza an adonis look, so I'm not convinced...

3. Get out of debt - What??? Owning a Subaru or Mitsi? At least with a Subaru we can keep the debts down to a level that equals Macedonias GDP, but a Mitsi means the kids have to go to medical experiments and the body has to be sold for sex behind the eye hospital.. In Phil's and Stickies case, this has to be done more often because they can't charge too much. Those Latvian refugees are a little 'hard up..' or so I've heard Sticky saying thorugh streaming eyes...

4. Get Organised - I think you'll find the that the WYIOC takes this to a new level. We may look like a bunch or smooth operators without a single braincell or clue on how to hold a **** up in a brewery, but against all the odds, every run, meet and trackday have gone without a hitch.. Well, apart from the odd few getting lost, a few 'accidents', getting the odd Police warning , having some ramblers getting a little aggressive, a TT driver telling Sticky to tell me to tell Chris to re-take his driving test.... But apart from that.. Faultless.

5. Help others - Forget those poor unfortunates that we see on the screens during Live Aid or the little Children in far flung African places, we have some issues closer to home that are far more desperate and saddening. Despite all the pi55 takes, shaking of heads and obvious ridicule, two of our members continue to drive or hanker after Evo's. Now, we must help these Brothers who have an affliction that some of us can't imagine, to Overcome this major blight on their lives and bank balances. Trisha won't have them as she feels it's too late. Even their close freinds, who have written me letters begging me to help, have given up on them. What can be done? We could extract some more urine regarding WRC performances or laugh merrily at their fuel consumption & servicing intervals.. but you know what? If that Evo X goes as well as it looks.. We may have to join them..

************************************************** *******

If you want to add your own New's Year resoulution.. or tell me I've the top 5 all wrong.. then pop along to the Monthly Meet of the WYIOC...

Normal rules & conditions apply....

Meet at the Holmfield Arms Wakefield @7pm for a convoy over Strines Moor to the Foxglove or simply meet us there at 7:30 ish...

Bring you car and let us see all those pressies Santa brought you...

Please bring along your best or most Hated pressie and we could even have a Xmas Swap shop.. for example I have some Socks that say 'SHAGTASTIC!!!' (Cos I'm a good at that sort of thing....) but these don't look good in the board room... So I may bring these along and swap them for something equally brill....

See you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately I've got my final Microsoft MCAD examination the next morning so won't be able to make it

So I'll be brushing up on 'Serviced Components', 'Proxies', 'Security', 'Rollbacks', 'Soapsuds', and maybe a bit of 'Probing', whilst you're talking about....er probably the same things but in a different context.

"It'll all be worth it in the end......" etc etc.

I'll be there, after having the 'all clear' from the Sticky doctor today, I can confirm that my long term illness is nothing more than a little *cough* pile (Can't spell heaeaeaemmeaaraehoid). After visiting the female doctor a month or so ago, and having the (not entirely unpleasant) experience of her 'probing' my rectal cavity, a 'second opinion' was in order, so off I trotted again this morning, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, to the surgery.

Point 1, I was expecting another bird doctor, not some bloke
Point 2, This guy had HUGE hands
Point 3, This is a delicate one. He 'said' he was only going to use a finger, but it felt more like I was being fisted by David fookin James (complete with comedy goalkeeping gloves)
and the final point...

He seemed to spend an uncomfortable amount of time 'up' there.

Having said all this, the removal of finger/fist was not the most unpleasant experience I've ever had )

Anyway, the upshot of all this is that I'm NOT dying, I don't have cancer of the whatever (not making light of this, I REALLY thought it was curtains for Sticky, reading too many scare stories I guess) and I'm 100% okay (other than passing the odd blob of KY every time I fart for the next couple of days)

So I'll be there.

My new year's resolution?

Simple

Exclamation Maybe, maybe not?

Well obviously I would like to be there but I have even more reason than normal for wanting to be there this time.

I went for an interview for a new job this week and if they can sort out the salary I'll be able to hand in my notice to my current employer and tell em I'm not bloody well going to Reading on that 2 week secondment which is due to start on the 23rd.

So you all need to cross ya fingers and toes and HT leads but not ya threads and hope and pray I get this new job so that;

A: I can tell my current employer to stick their job right up their proverbial
B: I don't have to spend 2 weeks in Reading with a load of ********* that are fecking useless at their job
C: You get to have a highly entertaining evening helped of course in no small part by my wit and humour

I really, really, really hate working here pls help me

This is nothing personal Andy, but even back then in the confused halcyon days of my youth, I was never that way inclined.

Or did you mean the car

Think i better bring some blotting paper for the Sticky ring to purch upon...
We don't want the foxglovians chasing us for some re-upholstery do we, I recall a MacLads tune of a similar theme ;-)

You'll be relieved to know that everything is now fine down there. Indeed, the by product of beans and sprouts now has an air of quality about it like never before. It's more Brighouse & Rastrick than Blazing Saddles.

If you're really lucky I may bring along some sheet music and perform an impromptu concert.
