Default Who overtook the Pacecar? Calendar this evening

Tonight on Calendar....

Blue new age STI over took a Silver Polo / Passat that is part of a west Yorkshire 'Pace Car' or rolling traffic calming initiative to keep speeds down...

The car was being driven by an elderly Gent (not Police) at an indicated 55 on a lovely, clear open national speed limit stretch... It was being filmed out the back and front windows and the scoob did a nice overtake..

Wasn't too quick or aggressive either.. nothing more than 60-65...

What's the point of driving at 55 on an open troad like that? FFS Indicated 55? That's probably closer to 50.

Probably going to put more people in danger or cause more accidents that it prevents...

I can see the point through 30's, but national speed limits at 50-55?

It's a bloody stupid idea actually paying people to go out and drive slowly, It'll probably mean more people will try overtaking when they wouldn't normally do it especially if they are in a rush.

People driving underpowered cars on the wrong side of the road

It's almost as clever as not being allowed to put speed cameras outside schools because it is deemed that 85% of people won't speed there............. what about the 15% that do? Surely it is these people that deserve the points and fines, NOT people doing a few over on a bloody motorway (in appropriate conditions of course)

Rant over

Bloody stupid idea

I saw that clip.

What an inconsiderate ar$ehole that guy was! Wish he'd been rear ended by a 40 tonner that would have taught him.

The Police are stupid to alway this to carry on as it will cause an accident bunching the traffic up.

It's okay for that guy he is retired and has nowhere to be on time so he can do 20mph in 30mph. Some of us have to work for a living

55mph was probably too fast for his reaction times anyway - safer for one of us going a tad more than that
