Toying with the idea of paying the SMACS lads a visit...
This Thursday for their regular monthly meet. Should be a nice run out over the Pennines / Peaks.
Chris reckoned on something like an hour from the Foxglove.
Short notice, I know, but anyone fancy it?
If we can get a couple or three it'd make it worthwhile, if not then I'm out on me bike instead

Oops, just realised it's mi old mans birthday
Let's pen it in for next month as a definate organised club event. Lighter nights would be a benefit due to the distance to travel and the proximity of their venue to the Cat & Fiddle
Hull, LADS, TTS and CADS should all feature in a summer of regional bonding

Aye.. a definate planned run in Feb as a Mid Monther would be ideal when the lighter nights are here and a regular Mid monther visitng other clubs (what, changing it again????????????????) could be on the cards.

This isn't intended to be a mid-monther (it's only on the 2nd!!) Just an impromptu type jobbie. As I said, I'll go out on me bike if there are no takers. More than happy to attend an official one in the new club clothing
I haven't.
In fact, I was over at Chishy's the other night and mentioned that we were going to Hull. He mentioned something about Kat putting on a bit of a buffet type spread at their place, dunno how serious he was, I'll check back and let you know.

Well we dont always have a run out on a winter meet, although Myself and Gillp95 normally have a quick blast over to Disley on the way back - just have a good old natter in a nice pub - come on over

You do realise sticky that if you come over, you'll end up putting everyones stickers on
More than welcome over, but looks like your getting the same short notice excuses I got last week to yours Come over on your own, like I did, your more than welcome, and you can get lost on the moors on the way
chris.

Mmm.. seems we have a clash of dates...
Last Thursday meets seem far more sensible
Definately can't make it this Thursday and any Mid monther or impromtu (other than The first Thursday) will mean an impromptu for both clubs...
My head hurts...
Grab the moment mate and go for it.If the excuses kill your idea, then we could both plan to have a mid monther.. (SMACS after their formal meet and ours before) at the mid month point????
My head still hurts..
Hull In march for that Mid Monther... Where do Chishy & Kat Live?

North Cave.
5 mins from Humber bridge in Chishy's Evo (You know what's coming next, so I'll not bother )
Think they might just have enough parking space for the odd Scoob.
I'll bell him in a minute.
Looks like I'll be on me own on Turdsday then!

Just need to sort the SMACS meet... Now, you could go Tursday and be all on your own.. or we could see if Chris and the gang fancy a mid monther.. Just a get together at their Gaff.. we drive and they welcome us with lashings of beer, the finest food, plenty of women, gifts and their car keys in a bowl for us to choose from...... Like Chris got when he popped over to us
Otherwise I'll STFU and we'll arrange something club like later and you go across and represent the WYIOC...

PM read, understood, and confirmed.
Looks like that's my petrol money sorted then (about a tank full )
Still not 100% for Thursday, as I missed my bike ride last night, and I don't want to get out of shape

Thanks sticky, I was amazed I manged to get through first time on the PM!
What lights do you use for your night riding? I've got a well knackered light I used to use very rarely, but now the battery lasts about 10 mins so I'm stuck to riding during the daylight hours, which is usually only sunday/mondays when I'm off.
My bike:
Love it too bits, but don't get the time to enjoy it as much as I used to. I was thinking of organising a scooby bike meet at coed y brenin, but not got round to getting fit enough to ride the red bull route yet
Hopefully see you thursday,
chris.

By a strange coincidence, I did the Red Bull and MBR routes on Saturday
Red Bull is fairly easy, and a nice little warm up for the MBR. That's twice as long, has a couple of nice climbs, and some simply STUNNING scenery.
If you're organising something over that way I'm IN! Can recommend a v. nice B&B just down the road, with an equally nice pub just 5 mins away.
Thinking of going back in a week or two
As for lights, I've got a pair of CatEye 10 watt jobbies, one spot, one wide. They do okay, about 2.5 hours burn time on a single bulb from the 2 batteries supplied, however, if I were buying now I'd splash out a bit more for the HID's as the light is FAR brighter and the burn time is a fair bit better too.
Nice bike BTW, but I could never get my head round a Lefty. Psychologically disturbing. I'll put my faith in Mr Fox, thank you very much
When we out on 'em then?

I've actually done most of the routes around there, and totally agree with you on the scenery and rides, but that was back in the days when I was fit. In fact Sean Lloyd had the cafe back then, and I think she's been moved on now
I still need to get a roof rack for my bike, as I have no way of carrying at the mo', it's not going inside my new car, thats for sure So, until I sort that out, I'm stuck with local rides. I'll give you a shout later on in the year when I'm much fitter, there's nothing worse than riding with a very slow rider in the cold Thanks for the info on lights, but by the time I could afford them, it'll be summer, and the nights will be lighter anyway!
The lefty does take some getting used to, but once I put the mud guard on, you don't know any different, although I do get some funny looks
See you tonight,
you have more pm btw
chris.

thanks for popping over sticky, it looks like a tradition has started where one club sends a representative to another club, but only 1 member is allowed to go
I'll send supertouring up to you next month
You have pm btw, and you inbox isn't full for a change

After the abuse I've been receiving recently I've asked the mods for 1,000,000 PM inbox spaces, just to keep you happy
Thoroughly enjoyed the meet, though the run over and back was rather sedate. Speed Camera Fookin Alley!!!!!!
Thanks for making me welcome, and for doing me out of the funds for fuel on the way home by not coughing up the £95 + VAT for the stickers. (YHPM BTW)
Fantastic turnout, though the 'hidden' car park almost threw me off the scent.
See you soon.
