I'm Back!
Oh yes. Picked the car up from Alton cars this afternoon and she's looking better than before... No really, it actually does look better than before with some of the normal everyday marks and scuffs gone. The splitter and spoiler are also a lot more shiny
They won't see this of course, but I simply can't praise Ian and Alton cars (Leeds) enough. A top drawer service with customer service that is second to none. They went the extra mile on more than one occassion and the car came back in pristine condition...
Drove back from Leeds for some of Martins fish and chips and I can't believe how sweet that car is...
I'll post a few pics tomorrow after Sticky's Armour Fended it

Nice one Al, have you used ArmourFend before, if so how did you find? It would drive me nuts if stuff got trapped under there when it was applied and how do you go about cleaning / polishing it?

James. You'll not find better anywhere.
I'm not just saying that because Martins a mate.. They really are top fish & chips.. and I like my F&C as we used to go to Guisely regularly just to sample Harry Ramsdens.. Also used to go to Cardiff from Bristol just for the F&C

Cardiff you must earn the cash to afford petrol money to cardiff for fish and chips would have been cheeper to come down to the savoy run hotel I worked in back in 2001 a bargin at only £63.00p per portion and I bet there still not as good as martins BTW the only meet Ive missed was the one to martins shop so im probably the only WYIOC member not to have eaten there

Cogratulations mate.
See you later on. Please keep the speed below 10 mph all the way over, it'll give the flies a chance to get out of the way and make life much easier for the prepping guy (me!)
Oh, watch out for the stone wall on the way into the yard

It's clear, it sticks to wherever there's a chance you may get stone chips (front of car, mainly) and it stops them (usually).
It can be polished, and in most cases it's barely detectable (obvious exception being the bonnet, where there'll be a noticeable line where it finishes, but I'm gonna try and minimise the impact.
It's only worth doing on new paint. There's no point putting it on something that's already got it's fair share of chips, kind of self defeatist.
It WON'T prevent dry stone wall incidents, but I'm gonna put 4 layers on the back of Al's just in case
It's also VERY expensive to buy, and even MORE expensive to have professionally applied.
Club discounts apply though

Andy.. Football's off this morning so I can come across at your convenience...
BTW. You're a little late on the <10 MPH request... I have several hundred unknown species attached to all parts of the front from yesterdays Leeds-Cas-Wakey run
It's also soaking wet from the rain, so do you want to cancel until it's dry and I've cleaned the car or are you happy to prep the flies & water??
Those interested... http://www.armourfend.com/
Also here from the manufacturers 3M. The picture of the Porsche protection doesn't do it justice as it looks invisible on a Blue car..
Here's a picture of a T20/T25 Armorfended on the whole front... You can just make out the slight 'cut line' back from the light and a few mm from the front of the bonnet, but in the light, it's pretty hard to notice..
As Andy says, it can't protect against the real big stone chips (or dry stone walls ) , but it will prevent damage from the daily peppering the car gets. As I do a few miles, the application is worth it to keep the fron looking clean and tidy. The probable increase in residual value alone should pay for the application.
Please note: For dry stone wall protection, I will have 3 mattresses attached to the back of the car.

Al, I'll give you a bell when this morning's job's out of the way (Should be around 1ish.)
You are, however, more than welcome to pop over anytime before getting the call if you don't mind hanging around, drinking coffee, chatting to Mick (Who'll probably be here) taking the p1ss ouit of me, and perhaps GETTING YOUR FLIES OFF (Careful Martin!)
