What should I do!

What should I do!
As you all know I'm selling the car (much to the dismay of some of you!)
I had it advertised at £10k on autotrader but have only had one phone call, apart from the usual muppets trying to sell more advertising. Have reduced it to £9.5k but still nothing.
I was offered £8.4k by a dealer I know as it has quite high mileage (46k) for an 02 plate.
I need to sell it before I can get somewhere to live and can afford to sell it for this amount and do what I need to do.
Am I stupid for thinking of selling at this price or should I just cut my losses and run?
Had it up on the For Sale forum and got a PM from someone saying he had his up for the same amount at the end of last year and after spending x amount of £'s on advertising ending up selling it for £8.3k.
I am very tempted just to tell the dealer to take it.

Ill second that, Keep it a subaru is much better than any house!!
But If you really have no choice, then 8.4k is better than sitting on a car that is going to go down in price the more time you own it, when you need the money now.
If you need another car anyway, then just Part ex it, probably a lot less hassle than trying to sell privatley then having no car while you find another one.

I agree with Raf, while ever you have got the car it's going down in value, it is a difficult choice to make. Just think though, when you are ready for your next Scoob someone else may be in just the same position you are in now. At the moment your loss is someones gain, the tables could be reversed!!

Subaru's really are not selling for what the owners want, and in most cases what they are worth too.
Coradoboy's is a prime example of the market at current, Its well worth what he was asking but no serious takers just time wasters and tyre kickers.
I would suggest not selling and certainly not giving it away, that's possibly one of the reasons for potential sellers problems., however, if it has to go it has to go.
Did I see you in Glasshoughton last week can't remember the day early evening.
oh!! and good luck
