Nice places to live in West Yorkshire
Alright chaps - having met some of you and being in the vicinity of West Yorkshire i'd thought i'd put this to you.
I currently live in Oldham but have always wanted to move out to the sticks in Saddleworth but to be honest to get somewhere decent requires feckin' stupid money. The thing is just a few miles further you have small places in West Yorkshire that seem just as nice (if not better) that dont seem to command the sort of money that snobbery Saddleworth does.
I've been looking at the following places, Rishworth, Ripponden, Triangle, Marsden, Slaithwaite and Meltham.
Does any of you lot live near any of these places? any recomendations? places to avoid?
Just a nice peaceful place with no a**holes
Cheers guys.
p.s. Yes i'm sure they will let me in if i scrub up!

Nothing wrong with Meltham if, like everywhere, you don't get the council bits. I live there and have no issues at all with it. Nice place to be and close to open moorland and nice roads. Marsden is closest to Oldham for you but only by about 5 minutes.
You could also get to Holmfirth from Oldham in about 30 minutes but could be a bit more expensive.

Go South... Not too far mind as you'll be a Southern Shandy drinker like the ESC ( Joke guys! Honest!). Sort of Black Country way. Dudley, that sort of thing. God's country..
Why am I up t'North I hear you ask??? Well, the WYIOC guys have me held hostage.. I've dug tunnels, built gliders and even strapped myself under Stickies car to get out.. each one was spotted. Sticky even noticed the 11... maybe 12 stone weight increase and I was rumbled... I'm now completely deaf in my left ear from the exhaust note... but the thrill of Strines from underneath the car will never be beaten

Did you go with the intention of being in a fight, or did they get p1ssed off with the dodgy footie cards and give you a bit of a Barnsly welcome (I'm like an elephant, me... )

I went with the intention of winning, which my first fight i did - the second they put me in with this guy who i swear should have been in a cage and certified insane.
needless to say my martial arts career was cut short

Sticky.. Chief's words to note are 'Fighting miners sons with the intention of winning' & 'martial arts'. I'd change from an Elephant to a Goldfish and don't annoy him further...
Chief - I'm a Black Country Lad from Halesowen. Grew up in the sticks in a small place called Pelsall, just outside Brownhills... But no one's ever heard of them up here, so I use Dudley instead....

Well if it's peace and quiet you want Al could be right Chief, Brownhills doesn't look like it will be too rowdy, of course the constant drone of the M6 in the background might put you off the tranquility, well either that or all the shootings & car jackings

Ah yes, the steam trains, Narrow boats, penny farthings in the street and kids playing with a spinning top & string. When we got electricity in 1996, them new fangled gadgets ruined it all..
Any car jacking was done at 3 MPH and the guy with the red flag walking at the front was all the protection you needed.. If guns were used, then you could always disarm the villain as he rushed to powder his gun and re-charge the flint. Them were the days..
