That was my first thought too...

 

When you think how most locks work it's a pretty simple solution. Probably a locksmiths best kept secret until someone blabbed. Glad to say we don't have any locks of that type on our house. Interesting find Ali.

Don't you think the Police should be duty-bound when a new technique like this becomes common knowledge to inform the general public. The criminal fraternity are already aware making us sitting ducks through our ignorance. You could argue that it simply accelerates the amount who'll adopt the method, but it would also accelerate the amount who'd take preventative measures to further protect themselves becoming victims. That TV show indicates that the German authorities are prepared to divulge the information publicly, but I don't recall anything being said over here, maybe on the Trevor McDonald programme.
