Default Last Of The Summer Camp Trips

Hi everyone,

Just been speaking to other half and she mentioned it would be to god to do another camp trip, just over night probally a Sat..

Seen as she didn't attend the last one,and after i told her the ammount of fun we all had (well i did )...

Was thinking somewhere not too far away, maybe Horton in Ribblesdale, theres a campsite right at the foot of pen y gent (spelling???) next to the Golden Lion pub see link....

Anyway let me know if anyone fancy's it ,was thinking maybe around the middle of Sept, ain't really fussed...

Nice roads round there as well....

Link to pub next to site... http://freespace.virgin.net/gregory....oldenlion.html

Would love to but the usual excuse kicks in again, w*rking

I'm off the last week in Sept, first week in Oct, with the trackday in between on the 30th. Will be in The Lakes both weeks, coming home for Blyton. Whilst up there I was considering inviting folks up for a days proper off-roading with Kankku, with the option to stay a night in a log cabin by a private lake. Will post later about this as I need to check dates and am busy with course-work tonight.

There's a nice little campsite just by Malham Cove that would be nice, and another 'round the corner at the entrance to Gordale Scar.

This can't be too far from the pub where we had a quick shandy during the first run of the year. That one overlooked the Ribblehead viaduct, top view from the gent's window

It also had low celing beams, I have the scars to prove it.

Lets get a date set (the later one would be better for us, but not too bothered either way)

Possibly, but what were you doing looking in through the gent's window in the first place?

I did wait last night, for feckin ages Twice actually, once in the lay-by next to Emley mast and then at the top of the right turn which drops into Kirkburton, long enough to phone Scott to see where you'd all got to Got his voice-mail

Right guys just called the site and unfortunately the b&b and bunkhouses are fully booked

I have booked 11 pitches for the 16th September for 1 night.(although numbers can be changed)

The prices based on 2 adults 1 tent and a vehicle is £7 per night children under 7 are free

There is usually a small charge for a gazebo but can sort this out on arrival.

Hope this is ok with everyone....

Was thinking of setting off about 10-11 ish Sat morning at TP..

Although was talking to Stuart... and some could met up on route,as seems silly some of us travelling over to TP to head back over this way...

Usually go A65 all the way, through Skipton and out that way,but if anyone as any other suggestions on routes, then thats fine with me ...

Don't know what we want to do about shelter ie..Gazebo and food ie..BBQ...

Have we stiil got a gazebo,,and a bbq,if so should we take them...

I know there's a couple of pubs in village that do food one with big beer garden (PATIO HEATERS) and childrens play area...

And there's also a cafe which do bacon sarni's ect for the morning after...

Think i'm going to take it a bit steadier this time and maybe lay off the vodka..

Also there's no cliffs, so i can't mooch off with a six pack.... just a mountain...

Should be good....

Think Mick has the BBQ (but he may have brought it round to my unit and I've forgotten!)
I have the Stuzeebo
Times look okay to me.
A65 sounds okay too, but if folk would rather have a STEADY drive up through Bolton Abbey, Grassington, Kilnsey, Aysgarth, Hawes, etc then that's fine with me (and the scenery is nice)
