I am David's friend.

No seriously, it will be a nice outing (not that type, despite the above comment) for the new and improved bugeye

Aaaaah! So you're David's friend - I knew there had to be one somewhere? (only joking David!)

very much used to the power now, and I've justified the cost by the fact that I didn't buy a WR1 a few months ago, so really I've saved a packet

I'm in a similar situation. Got a GGR DP, APS UP, Walboro, and an STi I/C. Just gotta save for the remap and then get it all fitted

Nice. Rick is fitting all my stuff up at Elvington, drop him a line nearer the time. Knows Scooby's inside out and doesn't charge an arm and a leg.

I'll let you know how the remap goes - didn't research it too much so I just opted for the nearest - Clinic - but plenty of people have had it done there and seems to be ok.

Pat does their mapping, and he's pretty well respected.

It's a shame the so called gayness with which this awesome car seems to be tarnished within the Scooby community hasn't made it's price drop further

I don't see why, I think it's a great colour (er hang on someone pass me a shovel) and at the end of the day it's the fastest official UK Scooby....with cheaper insurance than just about all the models we drive

I would hope you'd have all been polite about it in front of me

Not yet, will see what I get with these bits and then look at a TD04HB (AndyF), TD05 or VF34/35 later, along with injectors and a few other bits. Not much point going over 300 on a WRX as the clutch and 'box won't take it, and the internals will be near their limit too. I figured on a single power upgrade to last me until I can afford a Forester STi or a T20.

Someone, somewhere, quite some time ago, mentioned something about a meet at Buckles.

I'll try to make it.

(A dig at going off topic? That's fresh coming from me! )

Simon...'those' t-shirts, comments about being Dave's 'friend', and now your WR1 admission. There's a theme emerging here...

Anyone else fancy the short trip over to York. There are some nice back roads for those who really enjoy their driving - my favourite is the very short blast from Lotherton across to Sherburn. Great mix of fast flowing and tight corners! All those well-sorted scoobs from WYIOC should gobble up those roads!!!!!

Straight up the A162 (nice road ) to the A64 and head for York. About a mile after passing the McD's slow right down as Buckles is on your left and hard to spot until you're passing it, it's the turning for Bilborough.

Reckon I should be able to make this. Is there a meet up being organised for the WYIOCers attending? Went past it today on the A64 - even I couldn't miss it, but I'm sure there's a more interesting route
