Apologies to all for my non-attendance this evening.. the A Class threw a Front OS pad on the A38 just out of Brum and was cooked badly to the point of fumes in the cabin (at 80) and a lick of flame when I parked up to inspect....

But as the A class uses blocks of the best Italian granite as stoppers, the helpful and cheery AA man filed off the burnt bits, removed all the rust and crud from the disk and housings and replaced them looking non the worse for their ordeal. We drove a few miles with the guy behind before pulling off again for him to laser check the temperature of the disks.. all was fine.. but this put us a good hour and a half behind as he initially went the wrong way!

Plus I had to stop a few times to check again as I'm sure I could smell them... but you know how clutch and brake fumes stick in the nose for ages afterwards..

Ill third it , was in York sorting out some new brakes/lines on a friends car finished at 9 something so getting to the meet a going to be a mission, unless we had A jet style rocket powered engine..

Sticky, don't get upset if I'm old and slow (!) but have you got a Tee for me that I need to pay you for ? I'm mobile again now so could get to you if necessary....

1. Bring spare set of wheels ?
2. Purchase a cheap "lid" locally?
3. Fit new brakes before or after the event? (tee hee)
