James you may have given me a very good idea mate. Its been looking as though i may have to sell the car to finance a mortgage, but maybe i could keep the scoob and just get a cheap run about to get to work and back, and therefor save me loads in fuel costs.

Would you get cheaper insurance if you were only using the Subaru for say 6k a year?

I was spending 500~600 a month on fuel 2 years ago, stopped driving the scoob everyday, bought an MG ZR TD, borrowed £5.5k to pay for it over 3years (now paid off early), new insurance, tax and fuel, and i was still best part of £100 a month better off!

Still have the MG for the daily bind, it gets the sh1te beaten out of it, day in day out, its done the nurburgring in just over 10 minutes, has never gone below 40mpg, now has 76k on the clock, cant knock it one bit, best decision i ever made.

Problem i have now, is i need to change it in the next 6 months, and i dont know what for!
