Possible alternative to Blyton
Was speaking to a guy the other day whom informed me of a farmer who has a 1 mile runway in his fields. He said it is pothole free and a very good surface, although there is no track laid out. If it is a mile long then we could quite easily set up a 2 mile+ track, along with opening it up for some 1/4 mile runs. For the price of a few cones and whatever the farmer wants I think we may be able to switch our trackdays there. Will do some further digging and possibly a recé if you guys think it would be a go-er.

Go for it mate.. sounds promising.
Elvington is no worse for having the track marked out with cones... and if it has a perry track (taxy area around the main runway) then that could be utilised too...
If you want to some help, let me know, and I'll try and make it along..

'The price of a few cones'
Mate, there's thousands of 'em out there. People just leave them sat in the middle of motorways, trunk roads, etc.
All you need is a van...

If we attached a large board to the back, like a ramp, and reversed at speed along some roadwork's it wouldn't take very long to collect them either

Did I hear 1/4 mile..
Go for it you may need to obtain timing equipment to measure the times each car gets and this can be from various places, You could ask on SN..
Am sure we could borrow the cones they would not mind..

More options....
My previous employer ran a multi venue rally in East Yorks. He used the airfield at Breighton, last in the news for a huge shed full of cannabis!!!!
The other less friendly site was near Selby also, but I'd need to check on the map, but was a touch rough and awkward to run as a trackday venue, (private school/stately home).
Don't think Aerospace at Brough would be interested....
P.S. We also ran on Leconfield (Army driving school), but some spiv "bought" all the slots to run bike races.... Had a go in mine and it's smooth and real fun, but dunno about access. Maybe just try the top brass to see what their policy is ?? Keeping the local community sweet etc.
