Mmm fancy that new t-25

Now now Daz, you know how much you lost on the last Impreza
There's an 03 T25 in FS that started out at 23.5k and is down to 20k. IIRC they retailed at 34k new
If money was no object however
Nah, I still couldn't justify 40k on a jap saloon.
Edited to add, the car I mentioned is now in Autotrader for 19,995 CLICKY

I agree with the fantastic specification of the car, both you and I have driven the earlier incarnation and so are well aware of the potential. It's just that when talking numbers like that the head has to have some say, not just the 9yo boy in all of us. For similar money you could have quite a few more exotic cars that will have much better residuals after 3 years. I know that they almost certainly will never be as fast, or capable, but they have other things to offer such as style and class that any Scoob, no matter how much money and technical wizardry will never have. Performance per penny and smiles per mile they are hard to beat, with only Mitrubishi offering any challenge, but at that price level I'd want something a bit more special. I can justify maybe £18k on that 03 one I pointed out however, and as I said in his FS thread, if I was 8-10 months further down the line with my new business venture I would have been viewing it with an intention to buy.
Last week I watched a Porsche Cayman pull into the pub car park opposite my house, and the gathered neds out having a drink barely noticed it. At the same time a Scoob burbled past and 3 of them moved into the road to watch it disappear round the corner. I know which is the fastest car, but when sat in that stylish and beautifully crafted interior, enjoying the sort of driving experience that Scoobs cannot ever hope to offer, and whilst considering the residuals when it comes time to swap, I know where my money would go. The grip and ease at which a Scoob goes fast is fantastic, but driver thrill and involvement is lacking compared to true sports cars. Dazza will be able to relate to it as the Atom in some situations may not be as quick, but I bet it's a lot more exciting and rewarding that the go anywhere, at any speed by any driver experience of the Scoob. It's the same thing with Elise's, MX5's or a raft of decent RWD coupe's. Ultimately not as fast, but ultimately more rewarding, and ultimately more stylish and ultimately worth more and easier to sell after 3 years.
Fantastic, Hell yes, Worth £40k, nah ! IMHO.

I don't know if the Atoms at Time Attack were anywhere near Dazza's spec, and maybe the little fella's driving prowess could have clinched it for the rollerskates. Let's see if we can talk him into entering next year

The race car will be a quantum leap above that for track work, but I bet it's awful as a road car.

Not sure if i'd call any of the cars around the same time as road cars though, the t25 running in the time attack is a purley and simply a race car i had a good look at it and there's no way you could live with it on the road. in the same way you couldn;'t live with the norris evo, they are called Subaru and evo but have very little resemblance to the road car of the same name... andy's car is out of the box standard, and i suspect at £40k ALOT less money then norris and litchfield have pumped into there show cars... I'd be supprised alos if one of the top runners would last a weekend on the road withought something going POP! to achieve those time requires upwards of 700hp.

Though if it's any higher than my gate he'll be nackered. Should have seen him last night. I strode over it and looked ack to see him stuck with a leg either side, each one a good couple of inches from the floor. That alone would have been top entertainment, but then he went for the mother of all dismounts and fell on his ****
