Am visiting my parents in Yorkshire but have a problem with the car. Selecting reverse gear is nearly impossible and it keeps slipping our of 5th gear. Apparently this is a common problem and needs a nut tightening in the gearbox (can be done without removing it).

Anyone recommend a reputable place to take my car (STi 6) to get this done before New Year?? Any help much appreciated.

Sounds exactly like mine matey - out of 5th all the time & impossible to get into reverse - or out of if you manage it.

5th gear selector fork was the problem & it needed the box out!
