How do I join ?
Hi chaps never been to this part of the scoobynet before, and only been in west yorks for a while.
Was just enquiring at local dealer for some service work and they told me of the good discounts they offer for WYIOC members.
I've looked through various bits but cant spot how to join. Can I just come along on the last thursday for a blast from Traders to Squires and join or is there a form somewhere i'm not seeing? Sounds a good un to me, lokk forward to meeting up.

From: Slowly rebuilding the kit of bits into a car...
Beware the one called Alan he'll take you're money and smile as he does it......
Seriously join the mob, they(we) are a great bunch, and there's a big range of interests from rallying to drag racing, and we don't seem to have been to MaccaD's EVER..... Kids even bring their parents along for the ride !
P.S. What yer got, and where you from (roughly) you don't know who's looking at this ! (security warning over).

Hello there the tradition goes that in order to join you must do some or all of the following,
Come over to one of the meets and swim accross the local lake or river,
then eat a live fish, does not matter how big or small,
Run 5 miles backwards, knock down 15 bottles of Magners one after the other or coke if you are driving, and last a small subs fee the the old guy you see with a walking stick and a hat to drop money into..
Or you could just pop over and pay the £25 subs fee at one the meets to Al.. or the person who is on charge on the day..
welcome to the house of the WYIOC

^^^^^ Are you sure you want to endure stuff like this? ^^^^^
...and this is on a GOOD day!!!!
To join simply turn up. Keep an eye on threads in here, look out for impromptu meets, runs, etc, or just turn up at one of the meeting points for a run over to squires on the last Thursday of the month.
If you like it (Which you will if you have anything resembling a sense of humour) then you become an official member by crossing the wrinkly palm of the old Yoda lookalike with a few quid.
Membership gets you loads of privileges, including;
- Guaranteed stand parking at most of the big 5/6 events of the year
- Discounts from a varied assortment of suppliers of goodies in the area
- Stickers for ya windscreen and stuff
- Free nosh at the above mentioned events
- Priority for 'limited attendance' events
- A nice warm feeling that you've contributed to the best club in the country
We're a non-profit-making club. ALL monies are ploughed back into stuff like gazebos (So you don't get wet at Scoobywashout), BBQ, nosh, drink, and AST suspension mods (oops, Al told me not to mention that!)
Just bring your car, your family (If you have one / want to) and don't be alarmed when we take the p*ss out of you straight away. It's nowt personal
Oh, and if you have a spare drive shaft laying about bring that for JB

Mmmm.. a guy could get a complex with stuff like 'beware of Al', Yoda, old, walking stick and wrinkly all being jotted down...
The fact that I'm without doubt the bestest looking one in the club does point to some jealousy going on.... I'm sure there's an old picture from the Trading Post that Apple took where I'm looking remarkably like a film star...
(this will be the one without the Orange hair and double chins....)
Gits..
Anyway StuB.. I hope you've not run for the hills never to be seen again... As you can probably gather, the club operates a 'no clipboard' policy and is run by the members for the members...you will be welcomed and invited to get stuck in straight away to the doo's runs and events...
If you feel the club is for you after you've sampled the banter here and at a meet.. then simply see Simon (Whitescooby) or me with regards to any membership fee and you'll get as a minimum the points outlined by Sticky...
Hope to see you soon...
