Default Halifax Road, Bradford

Hi folks,

Seen a large number of Sub's new and old heading on Halifax Road recently.

Just wondered who is a regular traveller on that road so I can keep a look out and flash the lights or wave to you.

Getting some work done at HDC Subaru in mid March so sometime after that I may well be along to what will be my second meet with you guys.

Birthday treat from the girlfriend she is paying for a service and also a de-cat downpipe.

Can't wait to see what the difference is with the car with both power and sound with a full de-cat system on.

Hopefully it won't disappoint.

psml!

Does anybody know approximately what bhp difference a de-cat will make to my car? It's standard WRX Import saloon apart from dump valve and currently have a cat back 3 inch magnex system on.

Discussed things with Howard at HDC but that was a while ago now and I can't remember what he said.

I do remember him saying that I should de-cat it and then concentrate on the handling and braking rather than anymore power. He said he has driven loads of 300 bhp subs that are fast in a straight line but don't handle well or stop that well either.

Amen to that. In the real world, you'll find Paul & Ian's car's (450-500+ BHP) will be unable to get all that power down effectively on tight & twisty stuff. Both cars will be devastating straight line and big track tools where the power makes the difference. They'll also murder most stuff out of corners, but a well driven 300 BHP should be able to stay with them and a well driven & well sorted handling car could leave them (in the real world remember.... The track would be a different story..)

The Powerstation setup for the T25 race car & Tuned 06 T20 in the Time Attack & Tuner GP's respectively, proved the point nicely. There were bigger power cars there on the day, but with a properly balanced and well engineered setup, they took both series.....
