I have a 96 wrx and am after a de-cat for it were is the best place to purchase one (cheep ).
Would it pass an mot,are they hard to fit and what sort of bhp would i get from it.
am not asking much am i

You may fail an MOT for both emissions and noise, as I have been told that a vigilant MOT tester can fail a car if they feel that a non-standard exhaust may be louder than an original equipment. Seems a bit vague to be true as without noise testing equipment and accurate figures provided by the manufacturer for each specific make and model then it is purely based on perceived opinion. Some (very few) people have passed emissions tests with a full decat, but it is more likely you will have to refit a cat each year for the test (unless you know of a place that does slightly dodgy tests ) and chance it on roadside checks.

Not much to a decat really, so most work OK. Scoobyclinic would be a good start.
