I have not fitted them myself, but have picked up on the fact that they are well worth putting on the car, you really need to go for drop links too IMO

It does make a good difference on its own, I think you'll def need the droplinks at the same time tho

Well worth it I fitted mine and took everyone's advice about it being on the middle setting and was initially disappointed. A quick change to the stiffest setting and the difference was astounding. Others find that the stiffer setting makes the car twitchy, but I have come to the conclusion that if you are a heavy braker, throwing the cars weight around more then the stiffer setting is not for you. My driving style tends to be more fluid, progressive and controlled and this makes me think I'd probably have been better with the 24mm bar in hindsight. One of the most worthwhile and inexpensive mods you can do, and defiately include some solid links. You don't need the fancy alloy ones as the steel ones do the same job for half the price, but with the extra forces applied by the stronger bars the OE plastic links have a habit of snapping. They also flex a little under load, slightly reducing the bars torsional efficiency.

The improvement in handling comes from reducing roll at the rear of the car which help the front tyres retain a better alignment with the road surface, giving more grip and hence faster cornering speeds as well as improved high speed stability.

TBH I haven't noticed too much difference.....but then I'm a rubbish girlie driver so you're probably better reading CBs comments I went for the alloy drop links too front and back. Most people recommend these as the std ones are rated as 'plastic and crappy'.

Scott.. I was going to say you really need to get in my car to feel the full setup effect..... but Dave may say that won't reflect what the ARB is doing as it has all the other stuff added too... Dave???

But even Dave was impressed with the bigger bar fitted...

Al, with the AST's, ALK and front bar it would indeed be difficult to use your car to demonstrate just the effect of the rear ARB. Although I have only driven yours once and on city streets, so hardly in anger, it is without a doubt about as good as a road Scoob can probably be. As you know, mine was 3/4 of the way there, just missing the ALK (which I wouldn't do now, preferring adjustable topmounts if I do it all again someday) and the front bar, which is sometimes associated with re-introducing some of the understeer. In truth, the front bar takes away progressive break-away, making the front more liable to suddenly lose grip if provoked, but again, as smooth driving style should never result in this.

Scott. I've always advocated a better handling car over more power if push comes to shove and you can't have both.... Unless you are vastly underpowered(?)

I think good handling is so much more usable on normal everyday roads than big power.. and it can be used pretty much all the time to bring a smile..

And if used properly can make up for quite a few ponies...

I'd say about for about a grand, you can get a full suspension kit...maybe a little more if you want the AST's....

Once the car handles property, then you can step up the power to then put a bigger smile on your face...

Agree Alan. I had the 20G turbo and mods to go on the car until I had a drive in Dave's (CB) car. Quickly became apparrent that the AST's would be the better investment at that time...........sold the 20G and the mods went on hold for six months.

Think I've now got a pretty well rounded package (on the car of course )
