Need guidance please!
I put a post up in the general section but only got one reply.
I am booked in with Howard at HDC Subaru in Hebden Bridge on 16 March for some work doing on the car, rocker gasket, oil change, few belts etc but also getting de-cat downpipe.
Now from what I understand given my car is a 93/94 Wrx then it won't necessarily need re-mapping following the de-cat.
I'm just wondering what to expect when I drive it away from Howard's with a full de-cat system on? Will it be louder than it was with just a 3 inch catback exhaust with a magnex backbox? What about performance? Will I notice a difference or am I just expecting too much? Seems to be that most people are saying that a re-map is the way to go to get the best out of the de-cat system?
What sort of power should I get roughly from a full de-cat system? And how much difference will a re-map make? Also where do you guys go for re-maps and what is the cost of this?
Also in my post in the general section I mentioned that when I bought my car the owner had 3 Momo M1 silver alloys with the car which all have new tyres on but the 4th alloy is missing. Momo in the Uk is no longer but I'm wondering if there is such a thing as alloy wheel replicators? Has anybody had this done and what sort of cost per wheel? Just looking into a few things as the car has the standard wheels on. They might not even suit the car yet and I may be calling on peoples Photoshopping skills if I post a picture of the car side on and the alloys.
Enough rambling on anyways.
Thanks in advance guys.

I would do an ecu reset, but seriously you do not have to remap it, truth is you can't map a 93/94 if its running standard ECU.
When I changed mine the noise difference was not too noticeable, especially on tick over or standing revs, however under load it did sound much better, still not excessive. You should however be able to hear the turbo spool, a gentle whistle noise pretty cool to be honest
I think a lot of noise generation depends on what back box your running.
As for performance you should pick up on quite a lot better response time in acceleration throughout the gears and rev range

Got mine De-catted and much happier with it,not much louder now i've changed me back box...
Micks right about the cool whistleing noise, and does spool up quicker now as well....
As for mapping i've bored everyone on here for last few weeks bout is it nessesery and who's best, there's quite a few out there, but like Mark (semo) says you cant go wrong with Howard at HDC,think it's Paul bulmer who does his mapping(correct me if i'm wrong guys),
If your seriously thinking bout gettin it mapped then contact me or Stu ,cos he'll do us a propper Stu deal if all 3 go down....
As for wheels av u tried ebay....
