New addition to the club
#6
Both are awesome cars in their own right and after all the money, work and effort that's gone into the Scoob, no way am I going to get rid...
They both provide completely different driving experiences.
One, 4 wheel drive turbo delights the other V8 howling rear wheel giggles
I'm also getting one of these in June to cover all options:
Since I'm 40 next week, anyone figure I'm having a mid-life crisis

BTW - the funny comments I got last time around have already started
I'm not posting up to rub anyone's nose in anything.
I'll be giving ride alongs for club members as before with the CS.
I'll also do the charity ride alongs (as Sticky, Daz etc did) provided I can make the dates...

Where have the 'comments' come from btw via PM? A bit offside. Is someone seriously saying if they were picking up a car of that quality they WOULDN'T post a picture of it??? For god's sake the seats have got Abs how cool is that!!
Definetly the right colour - or did you feel you still needed a bit of red - hence the bike
Look forward to hearing her roar very shortly

Ian.... I can't even begin to express my feelings for those two vehicles... but the words Sex & Awesome come close...
The club will be rightly proud to have the F430 at a doo or show..
I'm sure I don't have to say this to the majority, but I will, that there isn't a nicer, genuine and down to earth bloke than Ian.. Ian enjoys his cars and there's not one of us who'd do anything different if we really had the choice.....
I'd be very disappointed if anyone makes any negative comments, because Ian's been with the club for many years and true to his word, we will bet getting to see the F430 on the track and with people in it.. Not just club members too. I remember the young lad/lass(?) he took out in the CS at Elvington the year before last because he/she was a Ferrari nut. My lad won't forget a few damp laps in a hurry neither will I, Dave and a load of other people who got a passeneger lap..
Final parting shot would be how many people do you see with the clubs name in 2ft Vinyl plastered over their car? Nuff said..

I always wondered when you had the CS if you'd get a 430 as they were due out just a few months later. I can just picture you stood outside the garage on a morning....hmmm, a bit damp so Scoob......but Lisa on Look North weather said it will dry by lunch, hmmm, maybe the 430.....but then the afternoon's supposed to be sunny so maybe the Duke
Can't wait to see it, and more importantly, HEAR it They don't roar Si, they SCREAM

I've always thought since the beginning that WYIOC was something different - top folks with similar interests and looking out for each other. Just look at what club members have done for each other over the years including helping/supporting each others cars.
Speaking of which, the last meet made me smile. Looking around the car park at quality Scoobs (Type20, WRC lookalike, quality classics etc), an Atom, quality Evos etc, etc - stunning car park lineup with others lurking at home (like Paul Craft's competition beast!)
I got a sideways comment from a neighbour (posh git, must be loaded etc) & a comment from a friends friend. Both people that don't really know me or what I've had to do to get to this point.
It's really heartwarming to see the comments when I got back this afternoon.
Big up for the WYIOC - a club to be proud of with it's quality members and ethos!

And you were in a Coarser, and me in my little tug-boat

Wow
Ian, stunning car, awesome; Only really got to listen to the 360 but that was enough!
Not into bikes at all but that also looks cool.
As for the -ve's, it comes with the territory? On a lesser scale I bought the noble (just b4 I was 40 too ) which was more expensive than I could afford really but which probably looked to the uninitiated like another £20k on top of what it actually was. I got many positive reactions from proper petrolheads but also sooo many negative ones too (Flash git type comments etc etc) from chavs & tossers. You've worked for it so ignore & enjoy.
All the best.
Steve

Defo no comments from the WYIOC crew.

With rushing around I totally forgot the other bit of news.
The new Thrapper won't be ready for a couple of weeks.
Rick is working on the Scoob at the moment, I've traded my Honda bike in for the Ducati which is due in June so as noted at the last meet I was in a loathsome rental Corsa with no power, poor brakes and terrible handling.
I was so fed up I bought a cheap run around. So at the moment (apart from stealing the keys for Helen's WRX when I can) I'm driving around in my Gangsta special

I can fully understand that, Corsa's are truly loathsome. How any GM engineer or designer can sleep at night having been involved in the creation of something which would be poor by 1950's standards, let alone the 21st century's is beyond me. Drove my rented one back to Leicester last week and spat on it for the last time. I had a good 10 miles on the M1 at 70 in 3rd at the limiter and every gear change was clutchless in the hope it might die and spare any other human the torture and indignity of it, but it held out I just know that it has probably already been assigned to another unsuspecting PDI like I was just 7 months ago
