Dont know if this has been done before on here.... Why the Scoob?
Was just wondering why you drive a scoob and what made you chose one
I'll start...
I didnt start off with cars I started on bikes, Have always been into mechanical and things I wouldnt usually be associated with.
The job I had was visiting construction sites reviewing Trainees on building sites up scaffolds wherever, bricklayers, stone masons, site & bench Joiners, yes got some funny looks and got ordered off site once.. for being a girly on site....
I had a 600cc motobike and it all went wrong when I met a tractor on the 171 whitby road, but thats another story. I used to attend shows and race meets and was one of the wed lot at squires, fri was brid and sat was scarborough... how sad is that !!
The scoob was to keep me off bikes, it was to give me the same buzz that the bike did.
And it does... I show the car, I dont track.. the speed is not what I got it for, not the top line speed, its the getting there that gives me a buzz.
So thats me.. not very conventional .. s'pose im a tom boy lol
So come on.. tell all.. what made you get into scoobs?

Always wanted a impreza from first seeing them Rally years and years ago, One of my mates as had 3 impreza's all classics from new and he always said they were a awesome car he as had a BMW M3 and a 911 since and he says he had more fun with the impreza.
That why I choose a Impreza and would find it hard to go back to a standard family run around.
One of the main bonuses of having a impreza is you can still take the family out, coz there is plenty of room to say its a performance car.

I have had three now,
I loved the sound of the flat 4, but more than that, if your brave enough and keep the power down they can do amazing things around the bends.
The classic are weighted so well, I have had the best times of my life, going on runs with Sticky up in the hills, one stands out more than most, but I won't bore everyone to tears.
The run I went on with Jb as my co-pilot was simply amazing, the car spent a whole heap of time in the air, landing on apexes and then powering out at speed, all unblalanced and out of shape, but in control.
I loved my impreza's because you could go shoppin for tomatoes while driving constantly at 1.1 bar in the tomato patch.
I hope jb see's this and has pleasent flash backs, one of the best (mate) days of my life.

Been a bobble hatter all my life so like most - watching them fly through forests whilst running for cover from flying mud
Work experience at Prodrive at 14 just fueled the fire so as soon as I turned 21 (could afford insurance although still stupidly high) I bought one
Still on my first - thought about selling her but when I went to give her the clean and polish for pics for the advert - she'll be with me for a few years yet

Followed the rallying and then drove one on a track experience day at Blyton with rally ace Howard Patterson. Took a few years as house buying and low paid jobs kept the dream out of reach, but finally got mine in Jan04. The mod route was unconventional, scavenging bits offered by mates or bought secondhand, but ultimately she was one outstanding machine. Fuel, insurance and mods meant my mortgage wasn't coming down so sacrifices had to be made. Sold it in Sept 06 and cleared a chunk of the house, but mostly it financed my driving school career. Now with a good job in printing at weekends and a secure 2nd career filling my midweeks I would never have time to enjoy the car like I used to, and I probably enjoyed mine a little more than the average, often driving all the way to Hawes for a coffee (twice one day). During the 2 years and 8 months I racked up over 40k miles and loved every minute. The grip, the acceleration, the handling (once sorted), the sound, the image (well, that's on the slide). Loved it all. I especially enjoyed my time as Events Secretary for the WYIOC, organising more events than I can remember. Without the car it doesn't feel the same, so I keep my distance. I did however enjoy keeping up with the Scoobs at the last Blyton, in a Skoda diesel I will have another, but more than likely a Forester STi, so I can fit the bikes, camping gear and plenty more in the back but still go like Hell with at least 330/330 and some more AST's etc. Only when the mortgage is well under control though, and depending on the housing market, as any spare cash will go into that for the foreseeable future.

Always liked the look and sound of them since being a wee nipper especially watching the rally.
Had a few different cars in the 3 years Iv been driving but nothing compares to the scooby.
This is my first.... originally I went shopping for a diesal mainly a vw golf tdi as I wanted better fuel economy due to travelling to work and never thought I could afford a sccoby. Looked at the prices and scoobys and evos brand new on import were cheaper.
Took an evo 8 and golf out for a test drive n thought it was crap then took my scooby out and never looked back. Fantastic car and puts a smile on my face when ever I drive it. Plus its an ideal family car for when we have kids

I always hankered after one since they first came out. The initial interest was ignited by reading a review of the Impreza's predecessor the Legacy. Autocar summed it up well 'almost unreasonable punch for such soberly styled and modestly priced machines' when referring to the Legacy. I finally worked my way up the automotive food chain to my first Impreza in 2003. I loved the looks and the sound and nothing has changed in over four years. apart from a brief flirtation with the Dark Side in 2005, I am back in the Impreza fold and certainly I can't see a car out there that provides the thrill and practicality, with character. However the biggest bonus is it comes with a huge family who live at Scoobynet Towers . Owning an Impreza is not about owning a car but a way of life.

I'm pretty much the same as most, I've always wanted one since watching Colin McRae tearing up the rally scene!
Since then I've always wanted one but could never afford the insurance, as soon as I'd built up enough NCB I sold my MG ZR and went for the Impreza, now I have one (and met the people of WYIOC ) I don't want anything else. I know theres better, faster cars out there but nothing come close to the fun you can have driving an Impreza, they can take so much and just going and they just hold the road like they're on rails...plus...the noise!

I loved the Rallying and bought my first (a WRX classic) whilst serving in Cyprus in the mid 90's. A proper Jap import into Cyprus with the 245 engine that I bought from a Pilot at RAF Akrotiri.. he was returning to the UK and was gutted....
I shipped this back myself on a ship whilst my Mondeo came back via a Hercules transport aircraft..
Had it a few months whilst based in London and even joined in a few meets in the London area (can't remember what club)...
It was stolen from Watford tube station and used in a robbery. Prior to this I was still on Cyprus plates and mistaken for part of the gang that had used a Silver Scoob in an armed break out from a courthouse in London (was on the national news). As shots were fired, the Police who blocked me in were fully tooled up and had all the roads blocked as I came back from a coffee at McD's.. oh we laughed whern they found out who I was ...
I then goy mself a lovelly Facelift prodrive WR Sport. Only 1 of 100 Turbos made..... I sold this pristine motor to club member Daz WR Sport (hi mate ) who promptly knocked bits off at Blyton and run it hard....
I then moved up to the T20.... best of the lot by a long way...
So with my 3rd.. you could say I'm a bit of a fan having driven M3 SMG's etc... this knocks spots of the nearest cars in my price bracket... and gives me the eebie jeebies when I get in...
