these are the 11 stands competing
########
If you want to change your number of cars as shown on the list please can you post on this thread your new revised number and if you would like a slightly smaller stand as you can be(and most probably will be) penilised on correct use of space if you have an 18 car pitch and only 6 cars !!!
The tropheys have been ordered and comprise of
Best club stand NBO 5
: : second place
: : third place
and 2 runners up plaques so a total of 5 honours to be won !!
we have decided on 5 prizes in recognition of the very hard work that the various clubs are putting into this event
the winners will be anounced at 3pm along with the car of the day winners and the raffle and cheque hand over to macmillan cancer
a recap of the rules are as follows
As you all know the club stands (large) are 70 foot wide 40 foot deep and the height of low flying aircraft
The spaces will be allready marked out for you when you arrive thanks to Gussy the ringmaster and super Roo from CS ,thanks in advance to them for getting up at 5am for this task from their NBO mobile HQ (cheap tent from Aldi)
-----------------------------
The Club stand judges are
Lord harding (CS/TTS )NBO Chairman
Martin (TTS Chairman )
Gussy (CS chairman )
Mark <the terzo> who set new standards last year and has been promoted to a senior position to help drive the NBO concept to a higher level
...........................................
The scoring is total marks out of 100
in 4 different sections which are -
1 Banners
2 bunting /flags
3 use of colour
4 Is space used wisely
5 position of vehicles parked
6 number of vehicles too many/sparse
section total 30 points
Cars-
7 variety of modles
8 good standard off cars
9 cleaness of cars
10 Display boards /specs
Section total 20 points
Club tents-
11 Signage
12 quality of tent / equipment
13 club information leaflets /pos
14 tables/chairs
15 Catering/hospitality
Section total 25 points
club members -
16 enthuasism of members
17 knowledge of club
18 details of club activities
19 Club regalia /uniforms
20 The X Factor =# Does it make the judges smile
Section total 25 points
------------------------
-Total number of points 100
The stands will be visited by the judges hopefully between 12-1pm and time will be spent examing the displays and asking questions
Please apoint a stand manager/deputy to show us the stands and we will also be interviewing other members from the stand .
If you look at the 20 sections above it will help you prepare your stands ready for the event .
Of course there will be grumbles and moans from some of you and celebrations from others when you win the tropheys and as a special incentive there will be 5 tropheys 1-2-3-and runners up places so it is worth fighting for as we feel that it is an important part of the NBO concept and development .
.The 100 marks will be judged by all 4 judges who all have different Ideas and criteria each judge marks a stand out of 100 points then Mark <the Terzo> adds up all 4 judges scores to get the max 400 points ,by doing this we will get a mean average score .
Look carefully at each section above and you will notice that 80 points are achieved from stand layout, club info and most of all enthuasism of the club stand members ,we have went this route as it is a club comp and not the best car comp ,that is what the the car of the day comp is for.
Of Course any scooby on a stand that is not polished and cleaned to perfection and is not in excellent condition will penialise the complete stand .
part of your role as club stands is to recruit new members to your club and we will be judgeing how you hope to and do achieve this
Of course your club stand will be a showpeice to the rest of the scooby community and every aspect of the above will be judged and will be marked ruthlessly
We Do not expect to see Adias /england /Umbro style clothing !!!
on a stand that is promoting your club or subarus
The X Factor is something we will all be looking for
The NBO Field plan has been drawn up and your clubs stands will be as follows
right to left
CS then
TTS then
Ayreshire scoobs
Wagon corner
RB5
RB320
WR1
these stands will be placed on the road side of the field
On the right hand side of the field will be the 11 suppliers (lists will go out tonight for them)
and on the far side of the field the Big Hitters !!!
right to left facing
WYIOC then the
SMACS
LADS
CADS
The judges desicion will be final
we have grouped them as close as we can to their locations
Im sure it will be a very keenly fought competion the LADS ,SMACS and WYIOC have all battled for years for years against each other always looking for that extra space to comabat their rivals ,who will build the biggest stand ?
I think they learned that the best cars dont necessarlily win the tropheys and are going for new standards this year
The CADS are always a tight formed group with neat displays and lots of good banter
The CS and TTS are real rivals now with both clubs recruiting new stand managers this year ,Its worse then the premior league with 12 month contracts and humilation and Boos if its not right
lots of work is going behing the scenes in the 2 clubs
One dark course will be the Ayreshire scoobs with some setting off at 4am and some camped out all over Yorkshire ,we have never seen their stands but they won 3 tropheys last year on their cars and have a scecret forum with 8 pages long . I think the Jocks are up to something really big this year
The wagon who were winners last year will be determinated to hold their gold and as they confess to being Nuts so they will be going to the extreams and a will be having 500 mile journeys to compete
The RB5 always has an excellent stand and management
a new group the RB320 will be interesting as well as the WR1 club who are really supporting this comp in a big way
wonder what they are up to ??
please feel free to post any questions about this part of the NBO and I will be able to give you help if i can .

Just a copy of the info i posted on the northern
--------------------------------------------------------------
and on a personal note to the YORKS
I hope that by reading the above you get a jest of what the club stands is all about
I have had lots of comments about club stands and restricted places but 70 by 40 is a big area and the Idea is not to pack it with subarus but to make a good variety ,Indeed if you read my notes we will only give a maximum of 20 points for the cars and look at other club activities indeed up and down the country we have had clubs fighting for club spaces with the various car ,TTS and CS are been through the same process that you lot are going through last year in the judgeing we were ruthless looking at the stands and didnt really want to see 20 subars but less is best and variety and different things on the stand is what we were looking for
Over the last 4 years the Yorks have had an excellent stand and this year my <vision> was to standise the club displays and raise the profile of the marque even higher hence even the X Factor was introduced .
You are by no means a failure if you are not placed on the club stand but what would benefit the club even more is to get behind the club give back up and positivity and help drive the Yorks to a new higher level
To help i did mention to Alan C and I have reserved a row opposite the club stand for only half a dozen of you who want to park there that are there early to help built whatever you are hoping to try to achieve on your display and guard what ever valuables you have on your stand
I hope you understand what im trying to achieve by limiting club space and guiding you to use the space to your best advantage to drive your excellent community based club to an even higher standard then what you have achieved allready in just a few short years /
please take time to look at the other club stands to get Ideas for future years ,I have placed you next to the SMACS and 1 up from the LADS so you will get some great banter going with them .
thanks to all the Yorks guys for helping make the NBO 5 the best one ever

CLUB STAND CARS ONLY #######################
we are looking for all Club stand members ONLY to attend LV for 9-930 am to allow one and a half hours to set up your displays before the show opens at 11am

#####
Please can you tell the marshalls which club stands you are with .when you enter the field
Anyone else wanting to wander in at 10 will be turned away as the marshals are involved in many other dutys too and it is a H&S risk with people driving and wandering around the field before 11am ########
All club cars as they enter the NBO showfield will be reqd to pay the £5 minimum donation to the collectors for McMillan Cancer charity

please can you have your money ready as you drive in to pay as there will be another 10 club stands after you which will acount for aprox 150 cars
I would imagine most club stands cars will be in convoys you will be directed straight to your allocated <plot> where you must park your car ASAP on your section and start building your club displays !
Any one found drivng fast over the grass or donutting will be asked to leave the field imediately and will be banned from the NBO .

Independant Scoobys ########
Please try to join in with the 2 large convoys

From the South all scoobys should head for ferryhill and look out for Ethanrob who is arranging the southern convoy last year we had 100++ convoys from these pick up points check out the threads for timings etc
,it is a great experience to travel in a scooby convoy and is a once a year chance for you all and is far more fun then travelling up /down yourself and you will meet new friends in the meeting points as the scooby <crack > is great before the NBO starts with people travelling from all over the country

Will that mean you are going to get a smaller stand and or lose valuable points.
P.s any chance I could have one of the Car parking spots opposite the stand as it sounds like there is only a limited number of them from the above post.
