3 Scoobs required Friday 20th ALL DAY!
Ok here's the deal, I need 3 more Subaru's preferably stickered up... be good for the kids
All day Friday the 20th July, i.e. you'll be there all day...
Its a charity day giving some poorly kids a ride in the car...
Now I know sticky is going so I need a list of people who'de be interested to put there names down basicly, ifyou can go then put your name down... I'll run the cars past the team who are organising the event and see what they say, the more names i can get the more chance they have of getting some cars, and then still have some cars in case of a dropout...
So please, if your interested & can spare friday the 20th at Donnington, then put you name down...
You won't be off like a nutter but will need a tank of petrol...
1, Sticky
2, Al (tentative)
3,
4,
5,
I'll let the guys there know and take it from there... the noise levels may have to be kept down, so bare this in mind! (Donnington) I'm trying to find out!
Daz
PS don't be dissapointed if your not picked, its down to numbers on the day and what other cars they have coming...
PS If you read this Ian, the F430 is VERY!!! welcome
PS Dave, sorry mate but driving them around in the furby with the sign on the roof, advising on the best line into goddards isn't going to be thrilling enough, could be wrong but you know what kids are like!
Soz mate it was just an image in my head Missing the Scoob yet...

As my Furby isn't wanted I could take the T20 in Al's stead Class it as a shakedown for 8lyton
Missing the Scoob I'd be lying if I said no, but not as much as I thought I would. The Furby keeps me sweet, for now. Certainly don't miss the bills

I've just read the post and really, really want to do these events in either the Scoob (but it's off the road at the moment) or the Thrapper.
I've got a good mates wedding on the Sat 21st and already have a list of things I've got to do for him. His best man has gone AWOL so I've picked up the slack.
I'll see if I can make it. Dazza - you need to ask them about the F430 and noise levels. Once the valves open it's very, very loud....
Only issue I can see is the weather. I've driven Donnington in rain and shine.
Last time in rain 2 Thrappers were almost written off. The new track surface at Donnington is a total nightmare in the rain with hardly any feel in certain places. If I do go in the Thrapper and it rains I figure I'd being doing parade laps only. Be warned!

OK guys I'm defo going.
We need to be there for 9am so do we want to meet up on the way down or just meet there? I'm easy. I intend to leave Otley at 6:30am so could meet people at Wooley Edge Services for 7am if they want.
To try and help Daz whilst he's working away I Emailed Russell at Wishes 4 Kids - if you're going can you drop him Russell an Email to confirm - see Email thread below (start at the bottom):
Hi Russell,
Sounds good - I'm very relieved to hear on the noise regs.
I'll contact the other guys coming in the club and get them to drop you a line so you know who's coming.
See you next week,
Ian

Hi Ian
Many thanks for your message.
Daz had mentioned that he may be called away to the US.
He had arranged for 3 Subaru's, 1 or two F430's and his Atom (I think he was arranging for a friend to bring his car). Would you know the owners of the other two Subaru's?
With regards the F430's - we have had them attend before without problem of noise. We will be using only the Melbourne Loop of the track as I believe the full track is being used by motorbikes. It must, therefore, be a 'noise allowed' day.
I sent an email out to all the other drivers yesterday which read:
Hi All
Just a line to confirm arrangements for the Wishes 4 Kids Donington Day on Friday 20th July. I do hope that everyone is still able to attend together with colleagues with other cars (if there is a change to this please let me know as soon as possible).
There will be 232 people attending of which well over 100 are children.
Chris Ward will be your contact on the day. Chris has kindly agreed to set up the slalom course, tweak the chicanes on the track and to oversee the drivers/cars section of the day for us.
Chris Rhodes will be looking after the 'loaders'. This is twenty kind folk who have offered their help on the day. Their job is to assist each child to the cars. Each car will have a designated loader.
We have changed the procedure, for the children, a little this year. Each car will be numbered (we have stickers which can be easily removed) and each child will be given a numbered token for that car. The 'loader' will assist a child to the car then, once the car has left the collection area, will find the next child with the follow-on number ready to load. Each car will have a set stopping area in order that the children know where they need to be standing.
We would ask all drivers to arrive at the Paddock Car Park by 9:00am ready for safety briefing and form signing. We will try to have coffee ready!!
Our greatest thanks to you all for giving your time to make this such a special day for all the children.
I look forward to meeting with you next week.
Kindest regards
Russell

Hi Russell,
I'm a friend of Daz from the Subaru club in West Yorkshire (WYIOC).
I'm not sure if he's been in contact since he's been called to the USA
on business.
There's a few of us in the club coming for the Donnington day on 20th
July. My Scoob is off the road at the moment but I've organised the day off
work and I could give the kids a spin in a Ferrari F430.
My only issue is, when the exhaust valves open it is loud even though
it's totally standard.
We've been taken off a few circuits due to noise regulations.
Have you had an F430 there before or other Ferraris (they're all loud!)
as an indication as to whether the circuit organisers will let me run
it?
Regards,
Ian Thomason
