Default Best Place in West Yorkshire or locally for Chipping?

Any recommendations for where I should be taking my car for the above?

Any idea on approximate price?

Also is it as simple as plugging in a chip?

I have a 93 Wrx Import with de-cat downpipe and straight through exhaust and a dump valve.

I'm also wondering whether to get a performance panel filter or a cone filter??

Having my front brakes uprated next Wednesday at HDC Subaru then next month start on the handling and then probably the chip.

Just want to get an idea on the cost etc.

Any thoughts would be great.

Cheers Semo,

Appreciate that mate.

Would it plug straight in or would I need somebody to do fit it for me? Is there any setting up involved after installation?

Cheers

Dave

I'd agree with the 'stay away from Superchips' comments.

You'll find it's just a fairly simple piggy-back device that only overides or disables certain codes & protection software (fuel rate, air flow, certain sensor readings etc) and really isn't mapped properly to your driving, fuel etc...

It may add 5%-10% popwer, but it will do it by making the ECU ignore certain safeguards. if you need a second opinion to HDC, speak to Andy @AET... I'm sure he or one of the engineers will give you the proper low down...

I'd recommend you pay the extra cash and get a proper map..

Cheers for the comments guys,!

I have been chatting with a guy on here called Scott from Polar Performance and he has filled me on on a few things.

He does a chip which is more suited for my car that's £199 for the chip but £550 for the chip and a remap.

I'm going to look into it a bit more before I leap, determined to get brakes done first and then the handling before I increase the power.

I have a feeling Howard will tell me not to get the car chipped! ha ha ha ha ha!
