My little black Furby's going - Last pics
Not a Scoob so not too intesting to you guys. Traded the black one in against an Octy, so I'm adopting the silver one for teaching. Last pics after a quick clean yesterday....
....so this is mine now...
The wheels on the silver one are my teaching wheels before anyone comments. The alloys are reserved for special :P

Couldn't stretch to a vRS just yet, would have been another £5k for a PD170. Very nearly did a deal on the petrol vRS estate below, but couldn't agree on a price where both sides were happy, so we'll wait for a year or so and see what the diesel ones are going for then.
For now, if anyone's interested here's our new barge....
First on the MUST DO list is get rid of the 15's and the truly horrendous Michelin Energy tyres Wallow like a hippo and squeal like a stuck pig
As is...
As it will be with 18" Leggera's and better rubber...

Now, not meaning to be funny in any way as you know how I feel about these motors...
But if, say 15 years ago, someone had told you you'd have two Skodas on your drive in 2007, would you have shot yourself there and then?

Don't have a problem with it really. Given the history of Skoda it would have been hard to contemplate 15 years ago, but today they are a quality product at a realistic price, cheaper to run than a pushbike and the residuals on them would make an accountant do sex wee. Given the choice, of course I'd have a Scoob on the drive but with no time to drive it, and the whole point of having no time being to reduce or negate the mortgage, blowing a large wedge on a toy which consumes money in every way possible would be a bit stoopid. I don't want the depreciation, I don't want the fuel bills, I don't want to insure one, or tax one. I DO want to drive one, when I have the time, which isn't now, so I'll make do with excellent build quality, paint significantly more robust than dried snot, fuel consumption lower than a Smart car, resale values like Rolex watches, main dealer servicing prices lower than a backstreet garage and parts as cheap air. Clever has never been cool, but I have never been cool so nothing lost there.

Ah, but this is all with hindsight. My original question still stands. I wasn't asking for justification, and I wasn't having a pop, far from it.
I'd have one now, but 15 years ago?

I won't pay Burtons prices I have been known to order from Kays, in the sale
At the moment I think I'm more "Man at Pie Shop"
Sticky, I know you weren't popping, but I couldn't say what I wanted without it coming out all sneery Anyhoo, give us 2 more years and the learners will be in a Leon PD170 (map'd ) and H will have a vRS PD170 (map'd more ). Might even be able to afford a toy by then if all goes well, but it probably won't be 4WD, or depreciate like a Durex

It certainly picks up well like most modern diesels. Corners like a bowling ball though. Had loads of ideas for remap's, ARB's, Koni FSD's, Eibachs, 18's and sticky rubber, but the sensible hat I bought last year which made me sell the Scoob tells me I should leave it as is and just upgrade next year to a vRS instead of throwing £3k at a car that will never be really good, and will be worth less due to mods later, but almost the same at this time next year as I just paid if left alone.
