Default Autocar 0-100-0 :-) :-) :-)

top again...
6.07 0-100 was a bit crap on the 100-0 @ 4.02 as he locked everything up but not a bad time...
I reckon i could get a 5 to 100 as I've finally sussed the takeoff
sorry just having a proud moment

BUT....

4.2 seconds for a bog standard family hatch 100-0 is absolutely stunning, and makes a complete mockery of Highway Code stopping distances.

The Focus was pretty special on the brakes for an ordinary hatchback

In the absence of the Veyron, and keeping in the real world the Atom is always gonna do it until something else goes after its crown. The Veyron though with 0-60 in 2.8, 0-100 in 5.5 and overall 0-100-0 in 9.9 is astounding for a car weighing 1.9 tonnes (+driver), and you can lease one now for just $24k pcm

You have the right to be proud

I'd echo Dave by saying you have every right to be proud mate...

Fancy doing your own 0-100-0 run sometime?

Get it filmed and show Mr Sutcliffe how it should be done... you're carrying a few stone less and you know the car better, so that would make a difference...

Next week.. private road somewhere... camera.. few mates.. job done....

Going off topic slightly, refering to my earlier comments on the Veyron I've now found some insurance quotes. 19.5k with a 50k excess

Found out last week a chap a few doors from me has a GTR. I've seen it up and down the road a few times in the last year or so, but always assumed it was a visitor. Nice thing, bright yellow, and lower than a speed hump!

Thought the quoted time for the Atom was 2.8?

Anyways, my Pug does 0-100-0 in 1.1 secs, and it'd have it in the twisties

I'm lying of course

it's 1.2 secs

Looked at buying one, before the atom, but they had a couple (well alot) of teething issues with the gearbox's syncing and drive shunt when running... not sure how well sorted it is but i bet the hell it sounds simply insane... imaging two Gixxer 100 engines at full chat side by side coming past you...

wouln't mind a go but its not just power that makes the 0-100 times its how well the car deals with the power... a 911 gts punches well above its power to weight due to its setup..

Don't Gixers redline at 14k X2 alongside would sound mental. It was daft enough with you and Si at 9k the other night

The Focus did stop from 100 quicker than the atom by 1 second.

But foo me David how funny is your reasoning

Last year it did a 3.8 seconds stop from 100... its all down to brake ballance... it very difficult not to initially lock a wheel...
Once the rubber is warm it stops very well, ask anyone who been in it... I defy anyone not to go for the passenger brake pedal on the track...
