SWRT Diorama

SWRT Diorama
Just to let people know, I've now got the kits and all the paints (£50 worth ) to start building this up in memory of the two WRC legends Richard Burns and Colin Mcrae. I'll be ordering a plinth and plaque soon as well. I'll be taking pics as I go through it and will post up when its finished.
Just so people know, once the diorama is finished it will be auctioned off (via ebay probably) and all of the proceeds are going to charity. Thanks to those that have shown interest already.

You know my thoughts mate, opening bid of £50
By the way, I'd like to take this opportunity to come out of the closet and say to everyone that I am gay
Just realised that I'm logged in as Adam... this is JB on the works PC

Well its started. Spent all day yesterday painting parts before cutting and gluing.
The only downside is the SWRT Blue mica paint, or lack of it. Its one of the colours that has been withdrawn due to all this lead in Japanese paint business thats been going on. Luckily, the shell is made from a colour injected plastic which is very close to Blue Mica.
Parts painted:
Dashboard
Doorcards
Steering wheel
Gearknob
Exhaust
Engine (underside)
Drivetrain
Brakes
Rear lights
I'll get some pictures up of the progress so far.

The car is done I've got a shed load of pics of it in the build process as well. I've started painting the pit crew and should have them done over the next few days then I'll get it all mounted on the plinth for auction.

Heres the pics of the car, the pit crew will be done soon...
Hope it will be worth something to someone when its done. Don't forget, all of the proceeds are going to charity.

The build history
Ok, so I FINALLY got some hosting sorted again, heres the building history of the car...
Sorry to bore people with this, I'm just proud of it, its the best model I've built and it has some importance too.

No need for apologies Rich, really good thread this.
It needed, and needs the pictures to see the work that you have put into it.
You should be proud and rightly so.
Give us a run down on what’s to do then an update with more pics

Rich, I agree with completely with Mick (not that I've disagreed with him! ) that there's no need to apologise in the slightest...
Those pictures add provenance to something that desreves pride and respect. If it had just been posted as complete, you'd have lost a lot of the perpective of the time and skill you've put into it.
I'm terrible at model building as I loose interest far too quickly and end up rushing the job, but this project looks to be fantastic and you should be rightly pleased with the job...
Keep the pics coming and let's hope it does you further well earned praise by raising some decent charity money... Werll done!

Thanks for the comments guys, it makes even more worthwhile for me to do it.
I've started doing the pit crew and tools - this is the hardest parts as some of the spanners and spare car parts etc are loose so theres a very high amount of concentration involved when painting. I'll get some pics up tonight of the pit crew.
