Our trip to the Lakes
Well what can I say... we went up to the lakes for the weekend and stayed at BrothersWater Inn.
Fantastic place, taste bud exploding food, with proper size portions and a full top shelf in the bar dedicated to different WHISKEYS .
Some fantastic roads and scenery up there and not too far from Lake Windermere where we spent the day on Sunday.
Heres a few pics
On the way there
Got a bit carried away once we got there with the Top shelf so didnt get chance to take any more pics till the morning.
Woke up nice n early for a full english and the weather looked a bit dull, a slight drizzle (that really wet stuff) but still looked beautiful
A short drive later and arrived at Lake Windermere, the weather picked up.

Lovely pics. We spend a week or two there every year. We were due to be there last week but couldn't make it so my Ma'n'Pa went in our stead Love hiring bikes in Grizedale, hiking, of course the roads and a couple of years back we did a Clarkson and took a Kankuu Land Rover up Old Man Coniston, much to the irritation of the on-looking ramblers I think we're giving it a miss next year and heading for France

Well hopefully not but maybe. At the moment I've got a very secure underground car parking space in Leeds city centre which I'm probably going to lose. This plus many other factors are making me think. I'm going to keep the Scoobs as long as is physically possible but after that, that's it - slow sensible car and automatic which is definetly the way forward for chilled out driving.
Went to look at C4 coupe, Focus, Civic this weekend. C4 Coupe with the paddle shift / auto are as rare as hens teeth, new shape Focus was frankly awful inside and I really rated the old shape and have driven a few, Civic was very nice but also very expensive. The dealers were very perplexed that I didn't want to have something racy but it's got to be all or nothing, if I got something that's quite fast it would never compare to the Scoob and would still have a high chance of being nicked.
I will probably if she has to go though

If you lose the parking space there's only 2 options if you need to leave a car exposed in Leeds regularly. A $h!tter worth less than £500 or...
Both would justify keeping the Scoob in the driveway saved for best

Dave tbh I'd rather leave the car exposed in Leeds than next to an empty house every day as the latter would involve both house been turned over and car dissapearing. I'm sure it would only take weasels a short amount of time to catch on.
I think I can live without it now, one year ago I certainly couldn't, although a Scoob went past when I was test driving the Civic and I had a massive ear to ear grin

why worry about parking up? if its gonna walk it will, the security on new age scoobs as any new car is pretty good and through my experience they only get taken with keys
