Default Rolling road & forest stage

Hello WYIOCers!

The guys over on Type-RA.co.uk - Home of the Subaru Impreza WRX Type RA, Impreza WRX STi Type RA, Impreza Type RA V Limited, Scooby V. Ltd, visit the WRX forum & Subaru forum are organising another RA day on Sunday 11th November in West Yorkshire.

The plan is this:

We can accomodate around 20 cars.

We will split into 2 groups.

10 will go to The Racing Line in Halifax for the rolling road & 10 will go to Tong just outside Leeds for a passenger blast round the forest stage in the WRC Spec C.

At lunch time we all meet up at a pub near Tong for munchies then swap over.

So anyone curious about what power their car is running & then likes the idea of 90mph through a forest in a WRC Impreza show please your interest here:

Wish I'd spotted this before, I can hear the cars on the Tong circuit from my house Would have loved to pop along for a look

Maybe next time. I was gonna try and arrange a WYIOC day at the venue using Rally-School's cars, but it was a bit pricey and my organising days are over.

Dean... I must apologise mate.

I only picked up your PM today. My good lady sometimes goes on SNET in the day and she sometimes picks up the PM's. Therefore I missed yours as it appeared read. Rest assured I didn't ignore you!!

She has her own now, but it meant I missed your post a little while before you posted this.

Thanks for the heads up.. it looked a fantastic day and it would be great to keep us info'd if you do something like this again...

I nearly got a passenger ride for free a couple of years back when I dropped in to enquire about a WYIOC day there. They ended up behind schedule with the customers that day so couldn't fit me in but on the way out of the place I had a play on the gravel lanes. Trust me Scott, you don't want to take your own car on there Great fun, but one misjudged drift and the bills would be huge. In just 200m I managed to rip off a mudflap

corradoboy,

A shame you couldn't join us if you are so close.

It does end up quite pricey - we used 125 litres of race fuel @ £2.79 per litre.
1 set of tyres & a clutch.
The car bent a front wishbone & just missed a 30ft drop with one of the RA boys onboard - took him 20 minutes to come round!

No probs - I'd forgotten I pm'd you an invite to be honest, but not to worry.

We'll be back for certain next year.

skywalker23

It is awesome, but the car is a Prodrive prepared WRC car which did the Cyprus WRC a couple of years back which helps.

As Corradoboy says, you can take your car on there but there will be very little left after a lap.

MickWrx

Yes, it certainly is special - hard work trying to hold the digicam steady at 100mph through a forest in the dark though.
