FAO the WYIOC Gasman - Chieftan333
Andy,
Got a problem with my boiler. I've had it looked at by a mate of a mate who's only just qualified and after fitting a new femister and a diverter valve it's still causing us trouble and he's said he can't go any further on it He's recommended getting proper Vaillant engineers in, but at £150 call-out and God-knows what an hour, plus parts prices to make Bugatti owners wince I'm not keen
It's a Vaillant Turbomax 824e (I think) and is now showing fault codes F27, which may be "Incorrect sensing of flame - Flame detector defective" and F62 which may be "Gas valve shutoff delay - Gas valve leaking or electronics defective" according to some Googling.
Is this something you (or anyone you know) can sort or am I looking at a huge bill ? It gets this one chance to be fixed and if it fails again within 2 years it gets ripped out and replaced with something else.
Can you help please

Brilliant service Andy, thanks very much.
Whilst we were speaking the sodding thing seemed to start w*rking properly, but if it starts playing up you'll be the first person I call. I've never had a plumber call me back and be so immediately helpful
When we get over the turmoil of our new arrival I'll be in touch about that other work I want doing.
Thanks
