Does Yorkshire have the worst road repairs in Britain?
Probably one for you John... but I've noticed that our repairs appears to have been done by a 9 year old tourettes sufferer who's flattened the tarmac with a ball peen hammer...
Don't we have any rollers nowadays???
Every time they rip up the surface on the Denby Dale Road because it's uneven, they seem to put something down that's just as bad or worse which then promptly ripples... I read in the paper they said it was something to do with the hardcore they were using and it's 'swelled'....
Bit like the trains and the wrong type of snow....
Really shocking repairs and it seems the boys don't really give a toss... just slap it in and move to the next hole... nice use of tax payers money redoing the road 3 times when a decent job first time would have been much better...
Is it a lack of money John or jobs for the boys knowing that they can get another pay packet having to go back to the same job 3 times?

Me and Sticky saw a man hole his morning that really was a WHOLE!!! no cover... half of it was missing completly, probabley nicked... but i agree you need a bloody rally car these days the raodfs are crap... actually a contributing factor of letting the Atom go,,, it was terrible on uneven roads...

Trouble this day & age it takes 4 firms to dig a hole..
1 to dig it.
1 to repair the problem.
1 fill it in .
1 to put the tarmac back down.
Thing is it takes 3 to 4 days inbetween each one, that's why traffic lights are on the roads so long. Then after all that they find out that it's been dug on the wrong side of the road,so then they start all over again on the other side .TOS*ERS...

I know what you mean, they've started again now, put the roadworks up and then no-one to be seen, costs me many minutes on the way home!
The only bonus is that the engine oil temps are up by the time i hit the dual carriageway!

just spent 600brick on four new tyres, then was travelling through cleckheaton on saturday, clipped a raised manhole which has scuffed my rim and taken an almighty slice out of the rim protector edge of the tyre!!!!
Well naffed off!

Saw them all congregating waiting to start this morning... This is the 3rd tiime they've ripped that stretch up in the past 6 months or so... then they did the JCT roundabout and messed that up too...
Plus.. even funnier.. they ripped up little sections of the Wakefield stretch and the joints between the new and old bits were as bad as the original ripples they were trying to fix.... .. Marvelous..
Now they're back to rip up the other bits they missed last time and to fix the bits they screwed up too... should be interesting to see if they bother to actually do the whole stretch and make it a nice smooth road rather than little sections that turns the outbound stretch into a mountain stage from the Acropolis rally...
How much money and time has been wasted in labour and inconvenience to that busy stretch...
Tell you what lads.. when shall we start this? I know!! Rush hour!!! Nice and quiet.... no bother... Cuppa anyone? May as well get all the cones down now at 8 and start at 11... quality...Longbridge has nothing on this lot..

You wanna see the crap that goes on on your average construction site.
Some poor sod laid the block paving in the ENTIRE Tesco's car park I was recently at, only to have to rip it all up for some unknown reason, then re-lay it a week later. Bonkers.
And you usually get one sorry sod doing all the work and 85 hairy arsed muppets in rigger boots stood about teaing, smoking and watching.
P155 up... brewery
