Default The WYIOC theme song...

Ok, now that I'm doing the DVD and all of the bits are coming along nicely, I've been thinking about a theme song, personally I really like the theme song that was done for Scooby Shootout but this was made specially for it so we can't use it.

The song will hopefully be played at the beginning of the DVD as part of the intro before the main menu, but as this is a club thing, how about people come up with suggestions about a cool, driving inspiring song that could be used as a theme tune?

Songs I thought of are;

Northern Lite - Treat Me Better

Kasabian - Clubfoot (WRC Evolved theme tune)

Metallica - Fuel

Paul Oakenfold - Ready Steady Go - My favourite one

Kasabian - Reason is Treason - I've used the intro to Gran Turismo 4 for this one to show how well it can integrate into a driving theme, it kicks in at around 1m 50sec.

These are some I've chosen, either because I personally like driving to them or they have some involvement around driving by one theme or another.

Who likes what or does anyone have any suggestions for a theme song??

Rich - a great idea mate and something we've not discussed before....

Some brilliant suggestions too...

I have feeling this is going to be an interesting (and enjoyable listening to the suggestions) discussion

I'll start giving it some thought...

Never been a fan of that song in all honesty, I find it too...messy and loud, though the words say alot about the club

Sorry to take on a very Clarkson-like way of voicing an opinion but No no no no no, gayest of gay songs ever from IMO the most over rated band ever. I personally can't stand it, all my opinion of course, if the majority want it then it'll be it.

Chemical Brothers... great driving track, but the eventual song should represent the spirit of the club....

Rich - Queen the most overrated band ever?

I think you need to get a grip and listen to some of their work, young man!
(And that's a very heavy edit fom what I originally typed!)

Al - One of the suggestions that is in the pipeline for the Alps trip was for everyone to fill a CD with their favourite driving tunes, with a brief description as to why each track was on there. these would then be passed between cars for the duration of the trip, as a bit of an insight into everyones tastes, and something to relieve the monotony of the trip down there.

I'll start a thread on the main forum tomorrow.

I made the comment with that in mind If we continue to have this level of suggestions put forward over the coming months, I'll be putting a few disks together...

Well, loads of suggestions here, I think it'd damn near be impossible to pick just one and say "Thats the song of the WYIOC". What I'll do is take a collection of them and play them throughout the DVD in various places, one for each chapter etc.

All my opinion as I said and I have heard alot of their work, non of which I like except one song. Just like the beatles and Abba, I don't like any of their songs. I won't like them because its the "done thing". Yes they were extremely popular for their time and they did push boundaries in music to get to where we are today but that doesn't mean because of this, I have to like the music they made. You'd be suprised how many people share my opinion as well.
