Tyre recommendations . . .
So what is everyones preference for tyres then? The Elise needs some new shoes, and I'm not paying £140 a corner for Yoko A048's just for winter use
Was looking to go for either Toyo T1-R, or the Hankook Rs-2's . . . any recommendations?
Sizes are either 195/50/16 or 205/45/16 fronts and 225/45/17 rears, if anyone can get them cheaper than Camskill, PM me

I'm getting some Hankook's for use on my track alloys. Not tried them yet but Dazza rated them better than the Yoki's on the tw'Atom.
For normal road use I've never had any issues with Hankook or Fulda. Cheap but do the job. I've been reading a lot of rave reviews about Vredestein's new Sessanta's, and again, Dazza was always impressed with their UltraC's.
If you can take them elsewhere for fitting, you can sometimes get trade price at Tyres4Less on Tong Road, Armley. Alternatively, Motorsport Wheels at Seacroft do some OK prices for rubber.

white scoob. i got a quote for toyo proxys on the scoob which are 205/45/17's.. they would be 98 quid a corner, and free fitting balancing and valves.. thats thru my mate at HI q, on ings road in waki. they do cheaper ones, but i didnt get any prices for them
i used to get part worns of him, which are 225/45/17's, but i didnt know what type they were. usually goodyear or michelin, and they didnt cost a penny.. only an 8 pack of carlsberg... again, thats from the same lad i know in waki

Just changed from the RE070's to the T1R's.
Now, we all know my feelings (and indeed real world experience) of the 70's in the wet, but the R's were waaaaaay better on the recent drive out. I was really pleased with their ability, especially when locking the DCCD and firing out of some corners...
Dry handling is not as good. They seem more pliant in the side walls and therefore a little more 'bouncy'. But I do get a bit more notice when things start to go... the 70's just went.. bang.. into a wall...
I'd recommend the R's for wet weather without a shadow. They're also a little quiter.. MPG seems the same..

I'd avoid Toyo Poxies like the plague. Made the Scoob feel like the suspension had come loose. the side walls are about half the thickness of Bridgestones. Only paid £65 each, but took them off the front at the first opportunity. Backs will be going soon.
Currently got Eagle F1's on the front, and quite happy with them.
I used to get Vredestiens Ultracs from Tyres4Less, they were fine in the dry, but somewhat questionable in the damp, never felt confident in their ability, but then the price went through the roof anyway.

Dave's got a good memory :-) Yep in the wet the Vredestiens were brilliant.!!!
as proven by Autocar it think it was about a month ago, came top in the wet and 2nd in the dry... Also those track Hankook's were fantastic tyres too on the atom and 1/2 the frice of everything else, they didn't look much pattern wise but were truly a very good tyre.
Ho and I've now got Kumho rubber on the scenic, TBH I'm well impressed by them too, I'll never knock the not so famous brands again... apparently the vredestiens shocked everyone on the Autocar test too... mighty in the wet
