Need help again as im now fed up
Ok here goes,
i fitted a new speedo face today to read MPH instead of KPH but when putting the clocks together i noticed the petrol gauge showed empty where it normally shows the level of petrol even when the car is switched off. I tried staring the car to make the gauge move and nope nothing. So i took them apart again but this time i noticed if you moved the gauge by hand it stayed there, so i set it to 1/4 of a tank which is whats in and put the clocks back in the car .How do these gauges work ? if i fill up tomorrow will the gauge work again or have i damaged it some how. Does anyone know how these gauges work its on a classic 96.
Second question .
If any of you saw my post before about the dump valve not working well i have sent it back to be replaced as i thought it was faulty.
Well also today i put in a boost gauge so i can see what s happening with my boost and well nothing is happening. The gauge isnt one of the best but it was only to give me a rough idea of boost. The dial is in psi and when you start the car it goes down the gauge to 20, when i rev the car it didnt go past zero.
How does boost work? do i have to take the car out and give it wellie for the boost to go up or should it go past zero by reving it.
If my dump valve didnt work (which i thought faulty ) and the boost gauge doesnt go above zero have i got a major problem with boost.
Sorry for a long post but im fed up with it at the minute.
I dont get the throw back i felt in my gto when i boot it is the car poorly .
any help please.
cheers

i will take it out for a blast in the morning. I had a mitzi gto before and the power was instant where in the subaru it doesnt happen straight away is this the case or should it respond at the flip of the throttle.
Any ideas on the fuel gauge?
cheers

the fuel gauges are tw"ts mate,,,very fragile
you should give the down pipe a good bit of wd40 the night befor then it should be ok the next morn
and the throtle responce should be a lot better than a 3 ton gto lol

Hi
just to make sure im not being too thick but i hope i have coonected my boost gauge to the right pipe. In the picture the middle pipe the blue one already had a white T piece fitted as shown and then a small section of blue pep came off with a screw of some sort blocking it off. This is where i put my boost gauge pipe.
Another quick question does it matter on the size of pipe you use for the boost gauge. Mine has a really tiny diameter pipe?
cheers

Seen as where u are mate i'd bob it over to Precious metals ,and have a word with Zak or Drew, they did my gauges...
Also they'll pop your downpipe on as well,Zak's quite a big lad, so he can get the bolts undone....
